Hi all! I recently got a George Foreman grill, and am in need of some recipes other than the 2 it came with. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, do you think I could cook bacon on it? I love to eat it but hate to cook it. Thanks for your help!

Since you're bumping I try.... ;)
I cook burgers, cheese burgers, chicken breasts...
I'm pretty basic with mine! :confused3 Whatever I have grilled outside in the summer, I cook on the foreman in the cooler months.
Sorry! No recipes! Have you googled?

I'm pretty sure you can cook bacon on it. I make pork chops on it sometimes. A friend of mine makes French Toast on hers.

i'm sure you can make bacon, but i prefer the microwave kind.

i stick to burgers, chicken, hot dogs etc.. mine doesn't have temperature controls (i don't know if that is normal) but i only paid $12 for it so i wan't expecting much. i still prefer grilling on a fire though.

I make my bacon in the microwave I just use a regular plate lay about six pieces on then cover with two paper towels. I cook for a minute then check it then cook for another minute and check it. It usually takes 3 to 5 minutes depending on how crispy you like it. It is the easiest way to cook bacon that I have ever done.

I do this too, but I also put another plate on top of the paper towels to keep the bacon more flat. Works great!

Agree with the PP -- burgers, marinated chicken breasts (boneless), pork chops.

I also make panini of sorts -- grilled sandwiches with whatever ingredients... ham, cheese, tomato, mustard, etc.

I like that idea! Why didnt I think of this??? THANKS!:thumbsup2

Yes! You can make bacon on the GF Grill! I cut the strips in half and put them on the grill, either horizontal or vertical. Close it and let them cook. When they are looking pretty done, turn them over and put them in the opposite direction. Drain. It comes out great! :thumbsup2

I grill chicken, pork chops, small steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, shrimp, fish, veggies, skewers and I also use mine to make quesadillas and sandwhiches.

Thanks everyone, for all your help! I had only tried grilling chicken and wanted to use it more often! One poster had said they didn't have temp. controls, mine doesn't either...I hadn't even thought of that and I hope I won't miss them!

Ohh, this sounds yummy!

Thanks for these tips, sounds way easier than cooking it in a pan!

You are the Foreman Queen! I'm going to try all of these ideas.:stir:

OMG, making bacon on the George Foreman will forever remind me of The Office season 1. :rotfl: :rotfl: Michael (Stevel Carrel's character) liked to wake up to the smell of frying bacon, so he kept his GF grill on the floor next to his bed. So he woke up and stepped on it..

Anyway.... I love to make chicken tenders marinated in buffalo sauce. I have a tough time getting full-sized chicken breast done properly. It seems like it gets burny on the outside before the inside is done. :confused3 Must be me. But lots more luck with smaller cuts of meat.

I brush my chicken in olive oil before grilling. It helps keep the outside from getting too crunchy and still keeps the inside moist. I do each chicken breast for around 3-4 mins tops on each side. Yes I know it has double plates but I still turn it over, the bottom plate just seems to grill better.

A great grilling tip I learned on here. Once food is all done and you are unplugging the machine, take two damp(damp not dripping wet) paper towels and lay them inside and shut the lid. It helps steam the yuck for an easier cleanup.

We done bacon before....just be sure to flip it and it should turn out fine. I also cook bacon on the grill which is good as well.

We've done burgers, bacon, chicken and pork chops from what I can remember on our Foreman.

Oh, I so needed this info! I'ts been a PITA to clean! Thanks!

We make all sorts of things on our George..it's one of the larger models from a few years ago.

I had gotten one of the original models as a wedding gift and it was teeny! I remember complaining to my grandmother a few months later and lo and behold, one day at my doorstep arrives this ginormous one. :woohoo: It's the perfect size because I can cook bacon without having to cut in half or I can make 4-5 hamburgers (depending on their size) at once. :thumbsup2

I've made everything from grilled cheese to paninis to quesadillas on my George.

Quick-n-Dirty Quesadillas
1 small carton chive-n-onion cream cheese, softened
1 medium (or large, depending on your personal preference) can canned chicken (usually right next to the canned tuna)
1/2 cup (again, depends on personal preference, if you want more, add more) shredded monterrey jack cheese
Flour tortillas

Mix all the ingredients together well. I usually use a big fork but I suppose you could use an electric mixer if you wanted. Spread 1-2 tbsp of the mixture onto half of a tortilla and fold in half. Repeat until you have as many as you would like.
Place on George Foreman grill and let cook for 3-4 minutes. Remove and let cool. Slice and serve. :)
