I know many people say Wegmans is expensive, but honestly their store brands are cheaper than my previous cheapest (Redners). I've compared many items (oatmeal, cat food, bird seed, apple sauce, tomato sauce, spaghetti, butter, flour, etc.) and Wegmans usually comes out ahead. I recently stocked up at Target for infrequent stuff (bathroom paper cups, chocolate milk, just to name a few) and those things were also cheaper at Wegmans--found out after I had already shopped at Target.
Yes, their produce and meats can run a few bucks, but I usually buy their soon to expire meat and save that way. I've been doing the no-buy thread for months now, so you know I'm trying to save money. Just FYI in case anyone is on the fence about Wegmans. Plus, the atmosphere and customer service cannot be beat.We eat there for dinners out instead of restaurants, it's that nice!
YES!!!! I find Wegmans to be MUCH cheaper than other stores. I buy laundry detergent there as I find it cheaper than Target and other food stores and the double coupons! I was shocked the other night when I ran to Redners to just pick up a few things and they do not double coupons! And their toothpaste was .60 cents more than Wegmans!!
Their meats are a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for. I have never had a problem with any of the meat or seafood from there. Also their produce is very fresh and reasonable. And their prepared foods are a bit more expensive.
