Traveling with a group of 17. Worth it to do Genie+ with such a large group? Seems like availability of lightning lane reservations might be difficult?

Are any parks more recommended for Genie+ than others?

For example, it seems like it makes sense just to buy an Individual Pass (what are they called?) for Flight of Passage and do standby for everything else at Animal Kingdom.

But, it might make sense to do Genie+ at Hollywood and MK?

Not sure about Epcot?

I think most people have gotten the most value from it at MK and Hollywood studios.

We are thinking about not purchasing Genie+ for our group of 17. Thinking instead of just buying individual lighting lane passes for the big rides and doing standby for the rest. We don't want to spend the day on the phone managing who is going where.

Is this a solid plan with this many people?
Can one person get on the phone at 7AM and buy for all parties?

With a group that big I would separate into smaller groups by family, interests, and/or ages! When I go with extended family we often split up for large portions of the day and meet for parades, fireworks or meals.

Each party did their own FP so I would imagine our next trip would be similar with a loose plan for the entire group and then smaller groups using G+ and or $I

Do you really intend to tour the parks altogether?
We never do. For our next trip, I doubt we'll even all arrive at the parks at the same time. Yeah, coordinating is a pain, when people want to do different things with different people, but keeping everyone together when only a fraction of the group is interested in any particular attraction isn't likely to go well.

This trip is for my Mom's birthday, so we may try to get as many people on her favorite ride, Soarin', together. Hopefully, my to-be 3 year old will follow his sibling's height trajectories and be tall enough by then. But that may be the one day that we insist that everyone is at the gates when they open, then we all walk on together. She wants to stay at the Beach Club, so it shouldn't be difficult to arrange.

Honestly, I won't be surprised if my brothers don't even stay in the same park as everyone else. If anything, Genie+ will allow us to spend more time together, because everyone will spend less time waiting in lines.
