Genie+ was $35 pp today

Given that G+ sold out last week for 4 days, Disney is leaving money on the table. They could probably double the price and still sell out during an holiday week.

Not sure why they don't start the price out at $30 and then vary the price depending on how it sells.

Did a once in a life time trip. Bought park hoppers Genie + with a touring plan. Did basically every ride. Had a great trip. My husband thought it was way too structured, but understands that we were able to do most everything because of the structure.

Going back in August (I guess one is a life time tuned in to multiple times.) We are not doing Genie +. Nothing is high stakes. The plan is to rope drop. Go back to the hotel and and chill/ sleep/ swim/ eat go back to the park in the evening. For Epcot and HS days, we are staying at the boardwalk in a 1 bedroom so we have a full Kitchen and room to chill. For AK day we are switching to All stars. Magic Kingdom we are off sight for a family reunion and going to the Halloween party with all the family.

genie + works well for park warriors who want to get the most out of every day. Rope drop and evenings work well without it.

I respect the thought, but I think people are confused enough with the prices varying from day to day. Varying them from hour to hour would not be received very well, especially when some families pay $30 and some had to pay $40.....

It should be $100+ so very few people buy it. It might also improve stby lines for the rest. I loved WDW in 2021 before Genie+. Everybody had to wait on stby and wait times weren’t that bad all around.

I agree with $100+ for same day/ single day purchase. However if you are staying at a Disney property you should be able to add it on to the length of your ticket for $50-$75/day.

At least if the price varied no one would be shutout like the current often does

Why not let the marketplace dictate what the price should be

Because they would never let the price be 0 on days when it should be 0 or close to it.

For example, during a hurricane warning they will still be trying to sell this thing even though 1 no one is buying it and 2 there is no need to have it.

Dynamic pricing is a customer friendly lie in basically all types of businesses.

But on those days no one would buy Genie + and the price should be close to zero. Our own government run transportation agencies are moving towards dynamic pricing on our freeway system. The goal is to have every freeway system in the Puget Sound move towards 100% of the lanes with a dynamic toll by 2040. This will eliminate freeway congestion. Not sure why a private corporation wouldn't do the same.

We bought, Genie+ and ILL and Extra Hours if offered. We don't drink, do expensive meals or buy souvenirs anymore. So it was what we wanted to spend our money on. We had a great week of no waiting for anything. Used Minnie vans several times too. To each his own.

I believe the starting price for a WDW Genie + is $15.00.

Not sure how the varied pricing would stop the sales from reaching capacity. And so far, Genie+ capacity has only been reached several times during the busiest weeks - not likely to be a normal occurrence most of the year.

The higher the price the less people will buy it. Once the price starts drifting over $100 I would expect demand would drop off pretty fast. They are going to have to vary the price of the VIP tours as well as more people use that loophole to avoid waiting in lines.

I much prefer the option where Disney keeps attractions up and available, and adds new attractions in the future, so G+ capacity can easily be expanded because there are more options with G+. Your suggestion is interesting in theory, but (in my opinion) not very practical for guests. I think this approach would create more problems than it ever solves. That being said, wouldn't be surprised if it has been discussed at Disney!!

Going to a higher price would probably only work if they had it set up similar to Universals system where you can just ride any ride at any time instead of having to schedule them. I don't think even people who are willing to pay that much would be happy with the current system. I, personally, don't buy Genie+ but I go often and standing in lines is no big deal for me.

Genie + is a waste of money. I invited my cousin and her BF with us last year to stay at the GFV. She told me her favorite ride was Avatar and the last time she came she waited 3 hours to ride it. Basically took all day waiting on lines at AK to get on everything. I did buy a LL for Avatar for everyone . It was a Wednesday. We were one of the First at AK and just about first on Avatar when it opened at early entry. We got off went back in line waited 30 min got to ride it again. Then started around the park hitting every ride then the Lion Kingdom show and ending with my LL purchase at 1200. Went to hotel hung by the pool all afternoon ; Citricos for dinner then off to the MK at 830PM for after hours there . We saw the Fireworks and hit every major ride without waiting more than 20 min finishing at Mine train at 1230am. She told me it was the best day of her life and couldn't imagine a day like that in DW. Now she's looking to buy DVC points . I created a monster. Genie + is not needed if you know what your doing . And of course stay away from spring break and the holidays.
