I have an HP photosmart printer. I hate spending a fortune on ink. Has anyone tried the off brands of ink cartridges? Did they work just as well, did you have any problems?

I have on my Epson. No issues. Mine has six cartridges, key is to replace them all with the generic ink, or you're colors will be off (especially if you are printing pictures).

I usually get mine from supermediastore.com I know they have the best prices for my Epson, not sure about HP though.

I had an HP all in one printer that I had for a few years, and always used HP cartridges. I went to generic and after a few weeks the printer complained that I was not using HP cartridges and ceased to work. It wasn't worth messing with so I bought an HP printer with HP cartridges for around $30.

We've been using generic ink in our hp photosmart all in one printer for about 6 months with no problems. we bought it on amazon. i think it was around $30 for2 black cartridges and 3 of each of the five colored cartridges.

Every review I've ever read indicates generic ink is inferior to name brand ink. The quality of the colors may be "good enough" for many people but it's not as good.

costo.com has good prices on original ink.
