We'll be going to El Paso in December, on Southwest- if I can get this question answered...

We have to change planes in BWI....pretty short connection, just under 1 hour. I'm positive we're going to get a crappy boarding code....probably a C...

It's my mom, me and my 2 DDs age 8 and 7 (travel age)...will they let the 4 of us board early so that we can sit together?

I know when my mom and I went to Tampa a few years back, our flight from BWI to TPA, mom was up front, and I was against the back wall...

I wont fly them, if we can't make sure the 4 of us are close...at least the DDs are with one of us...???

Thanks
Brandy

Nope - your kids are too old to pre-board, so unless your Mom has health issues - no go!

However - you can now check in on-line for your boarding passes anytime after midnight on the day of your flight - and you can check in for both segments - not just the originating flight - so you don't have to get stuck with that yucky "C" pass anymore!

Definitely get both passes before you leave for the airport - then hop in the line as soon as you can!

so if we flew before the online boarding thing started- my kids COULD have been separated from me? Geez!

Like I said before- mom and I were at total opposite ends of that plane.....she was the row behind the ones that face backwards- and I was up on that back wall...okay I'm gonna have to look into a different carrier.......thank you!

We fly Southwest and we have yet to be split up. We're a family of 3. I've also had the dreaded "C" passes too. I can't say all 4 would be together. I think you could possibly get 2 and 2. However, it's not a "sure thing" and if you don't want to risk it, you may not want to go that route.

I called southwest this morning...and they said that the crew will move single passangers to accomdate a family. She said that we will get 2 seats together, regardless of what time we board.

I think we'll go SW and do the online boarding passes....

I fly SWA quite often for work, from PVD to FLL connecting most often, through BWI. I can tell you with 100% certaintly, that the FAs on board will certainly do all they can to keep one girl with you and one with your mom. I have changed seats many a time to help keep a family with little ones together. Trust me, there are plenty of single flyers out there that will be more than happy to help.

Good Luck and have a great trip

Debbie

I'm a single mom of 2 boys...ages 9 and 13 and we have yet to ever be split up on SW airlines. We have flown them probably a dozen times or so.

For the record...that was with "A, B anc C" passes....we don't always get A and it really means nothing...just that you sit to the front of the plane and we really don't care. We are just happy to get on..sit down..and GO...(which is a lot more than I can say for the carriers that assign seats...what a waste of time...sorry)

happy planning,
Esmerelda

when we flew, we were given boarding passes for both legs of our trip at the same time (check in at airport 1)... so, if you are early for the first leg of your trip, you should be fine :)
