Let me preface this by saying that it's not for me I'm asking.
I keep getting articles on my Facebook feeds about wdw since I am searching on line for info.

One article tells of people unaware that they need park reservations in advance...and I get how that can be a problem if you somehow miss the instructions on their website.
Same article says you can avoid the hassle by booking with a travel agent. But... does that just mean the agent will do it for you? Still needs to be done, I'm assuming.

So if someone buys tickets but fails to reserve a park during their stay, they're just out of luck? Does Disney account for people who reserve but don't show?

It’s cut and dry: no reservation, no entry
And I totally get that....as a person who made reservations. Just wondered what happens if 10% of those who reserve don't show (or more). Can ruin it for folks who did try but were shut out, as well.

There's no penalty for not showing up for a park reservation - other than if you don't tap into the park you have reserved, you can't enter a different park that same day, unless you cancel the first one and book a new reservation for that 2nd park. Presumably Disney allows for a certain percentage of late arrivals or no-shows when they set the limits on park reservations for a given day.
