The end of January/early February I had a bout with pnuemonia and it just seems like I'm not bouncing back at all.. :(

Yesterday I did a thorough cleaning of our bathroom and the hallway and today I feel like I haven't slept in a year.. I'm really getting frustrated because I have so much to do..

Today I'm supposed to go to my DD's to help them with the last few things they need to do before they put their house up for sale and I'm totally wiped out.. Sure - I've noticed a decline in my energy the past few years, but nothing like this!

How am I supposed to get anything done if I can only work on stuff for one day and then have to "rest" for two or three days afterwords??

sorry you're feeling so blah.....did you have a recheck after the pnuemonia to make sure it was all gone? This happened to me and I had to take a stronger antibiotic....I remember getting fatigued really easily too...hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad C. Ann. I'll throw a heap of pixie dust your way. :D

I came down with walking pneumonia in November. I didn't start to feel like myself again until late January and it was mid February before I really felt well again. Time, lots and lots of time. And rest when you feel tired. And definitely keep in touch with your doc to be sure you are recovering as expected.

Sorry you're still feeling sluggish, C.Ann. Definitely agree that checking in with your doc is the way to go. Feel better!

Sorry you are feeling so tired. Hope you find some energy soon :)

 I hope you feel much better soon. Takes some vitamins and drink plenty of fluids so your energy will bounce back faster. I have been recovering myself from bronchitis and a touch of pneumonia this winter--I agree on getting a recheck--I'm getting one next month. Also, treat yourself to something---stress hinders and supresses the immune system.
Prayers and hugs,

I had a horrible bout with pneumonia when I was in my late 30s. I was in the hospital for two weeks and out of work for 7 weeks. I still went back too soon. Boy that was the sickest I have ever been. I went in the hospital on St. Patrick's day and it was September before I got my strength back. Good luck - you will be normal again but it can take a while.

I hope you're feeling like yourself soon C.Ann.

Sorry you're having a rough time. See what may be wrong with your doctor. Since you are feeling tired, don't push yourself into doing things. Drink alot of liquids and rest as much as you need. Feel better.

My son-in-law just brought me home a little while ago and I am totally beat.. Didn't do all that much over there - just took some stuff out of cabinets and packed some other stuff in totes, but I feel like I ran a marathon.. Ugh!

I need to start looking for another job soon and I'm really concerned about how I'm going to be able to function.. Just to be safe, I think I'm going to look for something part-time...maybe 4 hours a day - and see how that goes..

You all may be right though.. Perhaps I should check back with the doctor.. I'm no stranger to pnuemonia - there was a time in my life when I got it every single year and usually ended up with cracked ribs to boot (from all the coughing) but I can honestly say it never, ever whipped me like it did this time..

I'm hoping that when spring gets here (if it EVER gets here!) maybe that will give me a little more "zip".. ;)

I had double pneumonia when I was in my early 20's that whipped me. I got sick in mid-June (the day after school got out - I was teaching) and wasn't really well until September. I couldn't go back to strenuous exercising etc. until October. I was just thankful it wiped out a summer, not part of a school year. My friends talked me into one camping trip at the end of August and I got to sit around while they did most of the work!

It's not necessarily an age thing - sometimes it just takes time! My son gets pneumonia often. Sometimes he bounces back very quickly other times he doesn't.

I hope you get your energy back soon1

Hi Cann,

I think we are about the same age. I have been feeling tired for so long and just attributed it my age, but I just found out my throid is sluggish and I am anemic!. Every women over 50 should have an annual thyroid check.

herc.

Sorry you're still not feeling well. I agree with checking in with your Dr.

Definitely go back to the Dr. You might have a developing post viral syndrome. It really zaps your energy.
