Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Hi, Memom and Jill! Wanted to come out of my temporary lurkdom to say so glad that you all are safe and sound.

Haven't been around lately, but was following on fb last night. So glad that Jill, John and the kids are alright. Praying that they make it to your house, MeMom, without any trouble!:goodvibes

Sp glad to hear that you are all safe. We have heard from our family in the Tuscaloosa area and they are safe as well.

My mom is trying to get ahold of my Aunt & Uncle in TN right now. Nobody has heard from them yet. I'm hoping this is because they live in the middle of nowhere and just lost communication.

All is well. Thank goodness.

It's been reeeally slow at work today, so I've had lots of time to watch video and see pics of the aftermath. Scary stuff.

Glad to hear that everyone is faring well after the awful weather. I've been through my fair share of hurricanes, but I think tornadoes are way scarier!

Well, at least we can look at the wonderful pictures from the AKL and forget for a few moments about the devastation.

Glad everyone is safe, enjoy your time with your girls.

It's no problem waiting. I'm dealing with a bit of writer's block at the moment while working on my rough draft.:surfweb:

So glad to hear that everyone is safe! I was worried for everyone as I watched the Weather Channel late last night. I used to live in the Midwest and I would hate it when the tornado sirens blared... scary! Now, I just get to worry about earthquakes!

On the plus side... now you get to spend time with your favorite girls! :lovestruc

I am so glad that everybody made it through the storms. We had lots of rain and severe thunder and lightening. The wind was scary. There were times I thought the windows were going to break but thank goodness they didn't.

I'm so happy Jill & her family are safe.

MeMom, if Jill or any of her friends need anything, please let us know. I'd be happy to send clothes, money, whatever they needed.

I was so worried while following along on Facebook. Not nearly as worried as you must have been!

I actually got tears in my eyes when I finally read that everyone was safe.

Please do let us know what we can do to help.

I'm so happy Jill & her family are safe. I saw on the CBS morning show they were reporting from Harvest & it looked terrible, I felt so sorry for those folks. We had a bad tornado here about 3 yrs ago & I'll never forget those images.

MeMom, if Jill or any of her friends need anything, please let us know. I'd be happy to send clothes, money, whatever they needed.

That area is about a half mile from my house.

I lost communication about 4:30 yesterday afternoon and had no idea the devastation around me. As I have read all of the concern on here and fb from you all as well as the many texts I got when I had cell service I am just completely overcome with gratitude and humbled that you all were worried about me and my girls (whom most of you have never even met except through these reports.) I am grateful to you all for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. There is no gas, power, or water in our county. As we came up the interstate there were giant lines out into the streets waiting for gas as far as 30 miles from Huntsville. We were going to stop to get McDonald's at an exit about 30 miles up the interstate and there was a state trooper directing traffic into the parking lot and drive through. We have been told school will not resume until at least Tuesday. Once again thank you all!

The above link will take you to a picture of the gas station and neighborhood that were hit a half mile from our house.

We've had more than our fair share of devastating tornadoes around here, so I've seen this kind of distruction first hand. So, so scary.

Jill, that was way too close for comfort, I'm so relieved that you guys are safe!

We've had dinner a Boma with my two girls who can certainly be picky eaters at times, but that doesn't mean that they'd rather be eating typical 'kid' food. There was so much choice that I remember them eating better here than in many other places! They both love hummus and found lots of things to dip into it (including a few different types of bread), sampled some of the couscous and salads, as well as some straightforward chicken strips and mac n cheese. I really enjoyed the food here too! I'm sure you'll find something for everyone, and the setting is just lovely.

Thanks for the info! I'm hoping that's what my kids will do too! :thumbsup2

So glad everyone is Ok. I get tears in my eyes just looking at the pictures.
Jill, we all care about you and your family. I hope you can feel the love through all the messages.

I'm so glad everyone is ok! The photos are just devastating to see! I'm praying for everyone who was hit by this terrible tornado.

Jill, I'm so glad you and your family are safe! It was a sad day for Alabama and Georgia yesterday! Makes you appreciate what's important! I know your mom was worried :sad1:

Jill & Memom, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I have never firsthand experienced a tornado, but from the pictures I can see that it was absolutely devastating. On my local news it showed a video of the tornado from Tuscaloosa and I was awed. If there is ever anything you need, i'd be more than happy to help. I am just so extremely glad that everyone was okay. Big hugs to the girls!
