:banana::banana:The dancing bananas are excited for you, too, Scotlass!:banana::banana:

..... back to cookies. The kids are going to make pumpkin cookies with orange frosting. We're going to use chocolate chips to make a jack-o-lantern face. I'm sure they'll eat more than they decorate.

Then, they're going to make footprint ghosts. Yes, I'm going to put white paint on the bottom of their feet. Nothing can possibly go wrong with this, right?

Hi, all!

It's been crazy busy here, PK can vouch for the crazy. :rotfl:

Sounds like you had fun Pakey. Since I don't go anywhere without a child or 5, I would have had a lot of explaining to do. Mainly, in keeping my children from taking their clothes off, too.

Scotlass, if you see this, have fun!

It's October and I hate October. Bad things always happen to us in October. :headache: DH hurt his hand over the weekend. We're waiting to hear from the specialist, but he's probably looking at surgery. He just had back surgery last Nov. He doesn't get paid for being out of work, and since he has a physical job, he can't really work till his hand is fixed. It's definitely past time to find a new job, but its hard to find one that pays even half of what he currently makes.

Oh no, I hope he has a quick recovery. Will he get disability? I know how you feel, for us July is the evil month. I could go on and on about the bad things that happened to us in July :sad2:

I am SURE you can out-do me in the bahookie quest!

after all, YOU invented it!!!

hehehehehehehe

be afarid....

DW and I got back from WDW and are now looking at a trip to Scotland!!!!

(and england/Ireland) so we will stop by and say HI!

hehehehehehheee

do yer stock RUM in yer cubbord?

hehehehehehe

Welcome home, I've been enjoying your pics!! :flower3: Say hello to Ireland for me, two of my grandparents are from there!

:grouphug: Aw Kerrie, so sorry to hear about DH's injury. I'll say a prayer that something good (or great!) happens for you soon. Hopefully the doctors will find a way for him to safely and quickly get this injury behind him. My DH broke his elbow last Super Bowl Sunday and was out of work for 6 months. He also does manual labor-type work (climbing oil tanks, etc.) and can't work when injured. We were lucky he was paid disability pay, but most of what he makes all comes in overtime, so it was very tight for a while.

Is your husband a quarterback????

GP - We dont do rum,its the whiskey or nowt.

Kerrie - I hope DH's hand is not too bad.

I'm having coffee right now, and those cookies sound awesome! :rolleyes1:flower3:

:lmao: :rotfl: No Snap, he's not a quarterback. :lmao: :rotfl: However, the combination of over indulgence (due to his Pittsburgh Steelers winning the Super Bowl ) and a 75 lbs. Lab bounding down the stairs to greet him, did lead to the broken elbow, surgery and 6 months of missed work.

Our bad months tend to be January/February. Something bad always happens, or one of us gets sick, etc. Always a great way to start the new year off! :rolleyes1

Well, I actually feel better knowing we're not the only ones with a bad month. For the past 10-11 years, its always October. I hate October.

We did the ghost footprints. Minimal paint damage to the house. :thumbsup2 We did it first thing and then stuck their little feet in the bathtub. DD2's turned out the most ghost-like because she has bricks for feet and thus the best coverage.

Cookies? Are you mailing any to California????? Pakey loves cookies.

Kerrie, I hope your husband's injury turns out to not be so severe. My husband is self employed and a few years ago, while doing a good deed, shattered his heel. He ended up having 2 surgeries, was in a cast for several months on an IV drip due to serious infections. The idiot went to work on crutches. The loss of income we could easily manage since I'm the major breadwinner but he was more concerned about long term loss of his customer base. So he'd drive to his shop with his IV pole and work all day, standing on one leg while propping the other leg on bended knee on a stool.

I'm sure if you asked him today he would say that the worst part of the ordeal was having to eat whatever I prepared for meals and not being able to golf.

Scotlass, I'm doing the 80's disco dance with you.

GP, we went to England and France last year. It was the best vacation we've ever had anywhere. I hope you and your wife enjoy yours just as much.

The doc believes it is either the connective tissue or ligaments in his hand. I'm about to call to check on the specialist. More concerning is DH's back. It's getting worse again. We expected the surgery to help him longer than a year. We knew it was a quick fix because the doctors won't do a triple fusion which is what he needs. It would limit movement too much. He is the only breadwinner in our family, so it hurts us a lot. No disability pay. I'm sure the solution is out there, we just have to figure it out. His health needs to come first. Poor man is falling apart.

Kerrie, I'm very sorry to hear this. Your husband is awfully young to already have to be dealing with such serious back issues (cuz I don't think they ever really go away). I'm sending you pixie dust that everything gets better soon.

It's hereditary. We can blame his dad.

Good morning all! :surfweb::surfweb:

So who has a 3-day weekend? Can you believe it's Columbus day already??

No 3 day weekend for us. In fact, not even a 2 day weekend. The plant is running tomorrow (as it has for 6 weeks now). When the plant runs, HR dept must work and since HR dept works for me, I usually come in too.

But in two weeks, I'm taking 3 days off and going to Las Vegas with my husband. We don't gamble but we love going over there and eating and walking around and eating some more. Did I mention we like to eat?

No 3 day weekend for me. Not a holiday for us. So that means you all still need to report to the DIS Monday, as usual, so I'll have people to chat with. :)

Ok, Snap is excused for Monday. Anyone else bring a note from their mom as to why they can't participate in my class on Monday?

PKsMom, I'll be there for class, sitting in the front row as usual.

Can we do a crafts project with glue. I love glue projects.

I'm sure I'll be around somewhere. Please make sure there is glitter for the glue projects.
