Just want to thank the OP for the wonderful thread they started. Some great folks on this thread. :thanks:

:drinking:

I agree completely with you. :thumbsup2

I'm to afraid to look.

You're on! So far I walked 75 minutes Monday and Tuesday nights and 60 minutes tonight. I usually walk at a pace of between 3.0 and 3.5 miles per hour. It's a step in the right direction. Once I get this walking thing under control, then I'll start trying to do a little better with my diet. Right now I just don't have the stamina to do both.

Wow, you really are into. I would love to be your walking buddy.

It's a big step in the right direction!

*******************************************ZSzeb001_ZN So is encouragement from friends. :thumbsup2

I agree, I haven't enjoyed anything on the disboards this much in a long time.

Keep going, the exercise part is actually harder than the diet part so you'll be in the groove in no time.

I say that as I sit here in underwear so tight that I believe it's cutting the oxygen flow to the brain.

Smileybug is that same same pooh that everyone said looked like it was farting hearts or its that another one?

I need to send some of this easter candy to work with Patrick. Everytime I go into the kitchen I grab some.. :(

Love the new baby pic in your signature.

I'm off to do battle with at least one pile of paperwork on my desk. Have a great day.

Considering it's about 100 degrees where you are, you can sit around in anything you like! :rotfl:

Thanks to all for your encouragement. I'm a great starter at things, but I tend to drop off fast. Hopefully this time will be different.

As for thanking the OP -- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You really are a great bunch of people, very encouraging, understanding and VERY amusing!

PrincessKsMom, I'm not walking on my treadmill today. But I spent an hour walking behind our push mower. Does that count? :goodvibes

Counts more than my time on the treadmill will, I'm sure. :thumbsup2 That sounds exhausting.

My motto from now on: Any exercise is good exercise -- exercise is my friend. ;)

Hey, I like that motto. I'm saying it too. :thumbsup2 So.... how many times do I have to say it before I believe it? :rotfl:

Uh, when I figure that out, I'll let you know! :rotfl:

BTW, does anyone have an recommendations for good sneakers? Because of the weight, and I'm sure other issues, my feet are killing me from my new walking regiment. This happened last year when I started walking as well. I think it's the added pounding, but that's what stopped me from exercising last time and I don't want it to interfere again. I need something extremely cushiony in the heel and ball of the foot area. I have Nike's now, I've had New Balance in the past. I'm just wondering if there is a sneaker made specifically for overweight people which will take a beating. Thanks!

If you don't want to try out a bunch of different shoes, try inserts. Some of them are really good. I got hooked on them on our last trip to Disney. I was determined to wear shoes that were really cute but not made for a day of hard walking. So I bought those gel inserts by Dr. Shoals (I think) Wow, what a difference they made. :thumbsup2

No idea on the sneakers. I have super huge feet, 9.5 D width so my choices are limited.

I do better with Reeboks than New Balance or Nike's because those are too narrow for my square Fred Flintstone feet.

I've also gotten sketchers off of shoebuy dot com because I can get those in wides too. Not sure how these will hold up for exercise but they are what I wear for casual sneakers.

And Smiley, 2 hours behind a push mower certainly does count.

I'm still at work, suffering through a day in too tight underwear. Sounds like a line from a country western song.

Thanks for the extra hour. But I was only out for 1. :guilty:

You know, that could just be the next big hit. :rotfl:

One hour behind a mower feels like two. I know, I've done it before. You get credit for two. I don't have a life; I can make all the rules on here I want.

Any exercise is good exercise -- exercise is my friend.

I will take whatever she is having bartender.

New rule, I like:thumbsup2

PK, I own one pair of shoes, Skechers. I wear moccasins year round. So I vote Skechers.

Pakey and C1M: I too wear 9 or 9.5 wide and, unfortunately, Sketchers are what started my foot issues, so they're definitely out. I think I'm just going to go into Footlocker or someplace and try on a million pair. I used to use the inserts; maybe I should try again.

And congrats again to my walking partner--Pakey for kicking butt on that lawn today! :dance3: :yay: You go girl! ;)

C1M the only thing I've been drinking lately is water, and lots of it, so no booze here, although the weekend is fast approaching! ;)
