i totally remember seeing that unwrapped show and I plan on rewatching it this weekend!

I don't get why travel channel and food network don't put out a bunch of disney shows. You'd think with the economy they would want to plug disney as much as possible!! That and it feeds our need for disney and passes the time!

I found another really cool WDW show on YouTube, so I'll be sharing those links this weekend.

I wish I could say I've been practicing. Since the day I purchased it, I've been working so much that I haven't really messed with it. I'm thinking about just taking it to both jobs and with me and snapping photos during down time, just for practice!

I'll definately be taking lots of food porn pics and shopping porn pics and will be writing detailed reports on everything - hope everyone is going to be doing this too!!

I already warned Ron that if he takes a bite of anything before I have a chance to take a picture, I will stab him in the arm with my fork.

In other news, a couple weeks ago I added a lunch ADR for Sci-Fi as a surprise for Ron, since I knew it would be something he would get a kick out of. Well. I opened my trap and now he knows. Every "surprise" I've done for him on this trip, I've ended up telling him about!

I'm awful with surprises. If I have a present for someone I always end up giving it to them sooner because I just can't wait. I also hate surprises myself. If I know something is coming, I need to know what it is. I always squeeze an early bday or Christmas gift out of DH. My bday is 12/22 so my excuse is that I wait all year for any kind of gifts and I shouldn't have to wait any longer. Also I don't like to be surprised because some surprises are bad!! So if someone has the intention of surprising me it has to be done in complete secrecy.

yay 40 days!!! We LOVEEE sci fi but are trying Mama Melrose this trip but I'm okay with that...have a milkshake for me!! The service the two times we went this year was VERY slow so I guess just prepare for that if you are on a tight schedule. You might have to flag the server down to avoid waiting 20+ mins for the check!

I watched all of Unwrapped - Disney edition last night and LOVED it. I was swimming in a puddle of my own drool by the end! I could have totally gone for one of those Mickey Premium Bars. That is DEFINITELY on the top of my list of things to eat when I'm there next One thing they didn't mention, though, was the Dole Whip. Those are excellent! Oh well. It was really neat to see how they made the pizzas and the wedding cakes! Amazing. My hat goes off to the chefs in Disney World.

Billie.... if you can't keep a simple ADR a secret than how to do you expect to keep "other surprises" from Ron?!?!?!

Hi!!! I've been lurking from the beggining...thought i would come out and say .

I too am a lover of crocs....in fact that is all I own!! I gave up on tennis shoes and the parks about 2 weeks ago when i had to walk out of Disneyland in my socks... don't tell disney!! I decided right there that i will not even bother packing those shoes. And bought new crocs a week later..

We only have 41 days left till our magical christmas vacation!! I can't wait. Seems like our plans are a day off from each other. I was thinking of starting a PTR... but am still new to this board...so not so sure if i should or not.

Yeah, I'm loving my Crocs! I've been wearing them all over, and to both of my jobs. I'm even going to go back to the outlet next weekend and see if they are still running that killer sale, and maybe pick up a couple more pairs.

You should definitely do a PTR of your own! I don't think it matter how long you've been around the DIS, it's never too soon to jump in head-first and just go for it! I know I would definitely subscribe!

Walt Disney World is now accepting general requests to attend the taping of the 2009 Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade. As expected, taping will take place during the first weekend of December, but this year, taping will also occur on the Thursday before, making the taping a total of three days, December 3 – 5. Thursday and Friday will consist of performance tapings at Cinderella Castle and in the Main Street USA area while Saturday will be the parade itself (which may also contain additional performances at select locations along the parade route). Guests may opt to choose 1, 2 or all 3 days at time of registration.

Sign-up is free and includes park admission to the Magic Kingdom for the remainder of the day (note guests who exit the park after the taping may not be allowed re-entry without other legitimate admission media).

Registrations are accepted up until December 2 but are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

I am NOT NOT NOT happy about this.

Our MK day is the 2nd, thankfully. But what I am concerned about is the 5th. That is the only day that we can see Spectro/Wishes. And Spectro is something that Ron really really REALLY wants to see. We are spending that day at the Studios, then heading over to MK to catch it. From the sounds of it, it's going to be a madhouse... and if it fills to capacity and we can't get in the door, he's going to be crushed, and I'm going to feel like I failed him.

But I've looked at our itinerary from every angle I can think of, and there's simply no other night that we could do it. It's only showing two nights that we will be there, the 2nd and the 5th. The 2nd we have to do Fantasmic, because it is only showing on the 2nd and the 4th, and on the 4th is our coveted Le Cellier reservation. All three of these things (Spectro, F!, and LC) are on Ron's fairly short "really looking forward to" list, and I don't think we should have to sacrafice any of them.

The parks are going to have plenty of people in them, I just do NOT understand why they need to encourage even more people to come for FREE, while those of us who have paid to be there are having to re-work our plans around the whole thing. So so so so unfair.

I hate to miss MK on the 3rd cause that is when I was hoping to meet you and JoJo, I'm already thinking on leaving MK early on the 5th and now this leaves me with 1 MK day unless I rework all my plans, keep my ADR's as they are since I have already tried to change things and they are booked solid on those days, but just do some major park hopping.
I never want to think anything ill of Disney, but BLAST!!!!!!! why now? Why give away what we all have to pay for? I think those of us who have already paid for this should get the equivalent of a 1 day park ticket in cash!!!!!

I'm talking to Ron about what's going on, and we both totally agree with being reimbursed for a 1-day ticket. This really is unfair that Disney would up and decide to give away THREE park days at MK, while legitimate paying WDW resort guests are going to have to totally re-do their plans to accommodate the masses of crowds that will be there for free.

The only thing I can think to do is start searching/praying for a LC res on the 3rd or 5th instead, that way we can see Spectro/Wishes on the 2nd, Fantasmic on the 4th, and totally avoid the MK on taping days completely. I was just SO HAPPY to have my LC adr hunt finally be over, though!


**EDIT** I just realized the above plan won't work, because we have Ohana on the night of the 5th, so even if I got lucky enough to be able to move it to the 4th after Fantasmic, then it's cutting into evening EMH at Epcot... the only EMH that I really want to do. ARGH!!!

I think our only option is to just leave things the way that they are, and hope for the best.

I think it is totally SICK of disney to be offering FREE tickets for 3 days and causing hassle for those who have PAID for tickets and PAID to stay at their resorts might not even be able to get into the park!!!

The 3rd is the day we were spending all day at MK with breakfast and lunch adr's booked, then meeting up with you guys and then we've PAID for MVMCP that night!!!! That party is gonna be PACKED out with members of the public who havent even PAID!!!!!!

This I agree with. I'm going to do some research and see if they have done this for the parade taping in years past, and if so what it's effect on crowds was. You can definitely relax on this one. Anybody without a hard ticket for MVMCP on that date will be politely kicked out at 7pm if they are caught by a cast member. Nobody who hasn't paid for the party will be allowed to stay, regardless of if they were let in free for the taping or if they were there on purchased park passses. Only confirmed party guests are allowed to party. Not to mention that since any loiterers will be unable to ride anything or buy anything, they will get bored very quickly and leave.

I wouldn't stress about MVCMP, sweetie. I think that will be the one time at the MK that we won't have to worry about these lousy parade freeloading crowds!!

Breathe? What does that mean?! Don't think i've done any of that for the past few hours I am so wound up!

I'm at the stage now where I think I don't care - I'm just gonna stay in the wilderness lodge for 9 days and nights and get drunk at the bar Happy christmas to meeeeeeeeeeee I hold my hands in the air and wave them around and say 'I SURRENDER - I GIVE UP' No more moving around meals and days - can't do it anymore - my brain just wont work

The way i've started seeing it is that I've got two options - sit here feeling totally stressed out for the next 5 weeks not being able to re-arrange everything yet again or I can just leave things as they are and have a couple of cocktails at MK which will help me totally forget about the freeloaders

I don't think they will remove people before MVMCP. They arent doing wristbands this year so how will they know who is who? When we were at MNSSHP last year, we bought tickets but werent asked for them once & i'm sure we didnt get wristbands either but we rode the rides and shopped etc... Den said that if we're in any sort of queue for anything that day he is gonna ask to see people's tickets and if they havent got one he's gonna ask a CM to move them Bless him! He doesnt like me being stressed out and ratty I don't want these people hogging the good spots for the parades and fireworks during MVMCP or hogging the characters for photos either - it's just not fair!
