Hello all!

I am getting ready to make my first DVC reservation this June for BWV and wanted to check in with all of the very wonderful and knowledgeable DVC'ers here to make sure I understand the process.

I am looking to book from Jan 21 (arrival or check in) thru Jan 29 (departure or checkout) BWV at the 7mths window (home is SSR). From what I understand you book from 7mths of your check OUT date which for me would be June 29th. This day falls during the business week so I am ok there.

Am I correct in the above scenario? Also I am looking to obtain a BW view for this trip. Should I have any problems for this time of the year?

Any tips appreciated...thanks for your consideration. :)

It may be hard to get a boardwalk view at 7 months. I would call on June 22 (1/21 checks out on 1/22) and ask what availability looks like and if you should book day by day.

Thanks for the tip of checking availability. I have seen on the boards the idea of booking day by day. However, I don't understand the advantage of this. How does this work and does it mess up the whole reservation, like having to checkin and out everyday? Also, what happens if you book each day and then hit a road block of not getting the requested view for that day you are trying to book?

I appreciate all the help I can get.

When you book day by day, you inform MS that is what you want to do, and then you have them "link the reservations" so that it is treated like one continuous reservation once you have made the final call. If you miss a day in the middle, you can "waitlist" for it and they will let you know if and when it becomes available.

You might want to study your vacation planner from about page 44 to the end to feel more versed on the process. You can also find lots of usefull information on the DVC member web site.

I just wanted to say that you've chosen a great week! We went at the same time this year (Jan. 22-28), and it was the least-crowded I'd ever seen WDW. Also, we lucked out and got beautiful weather and the EE preview. Hope you get the reservations you want! :sunny:

As Diane said, they don't make a separate reservation for each day, they just add onto the original so in the end it's one reservation (assuming there is availability for all the dates). I've done this several times with no problems (at 11 months for a standard or boardwalk view at BWV).

Regarding days unavailable in the middle, that's why it's a good idea to ask on the first day what availability looks like for the entire time. Member Services could tell you that a couple days in the middle are already soldout. You could then decide if you want a different view (if available) and then waitlist for the entire stay for what you want so you don't have to move.
