GCV check in and parking ??

We (myself, DH, DS 18 and DS 22) have reservations for April 2,3, and 4 (Mon, Tues, Wed) at the VGC in DL. We will be driving on April 2, early in the a.m., from DS's apartment in Tarzana, CA.

I guess we will be checking in to the resort and getting our ticket vouchers exchanged for tickets before heading to the park - correct?

Will we have trouble parking? We may have 2 cars - is that a problem?

You don't have to check in before you head for the park, but you might as well since you'll probably want to park at the hotel rather than pay in one of the other lots. Currently, 2 cars are allowed per villa (no matter what the size I believe) though it's not really actively enforced as far as I can tell. Parking is across the street from the hotel. At the stop light, if you turn one direction it takes you to the porte-cochere area where you can drop off your bags if you like and check-in and if you turn the other direction, it leads to the parking lot.

Ticket vouchers can be exchanged at the ticket window as you enter the park. I don't think ticket vouchers can be exchanged at the hotel, but I could be wrong.

You will be able to park 2 cars, no problem. You can also exchange vouchers at check in. I have exchanged aers vouchers several times at check in desk. Have fun!

Our vouchers are not from Disney website, so that's why we can't exchange them at the turnstiles, so I was told (on another thread).

To park in the hotel lot for free, you have to have a room key to get out of the lot without paying.

Our son lives close to DL and does not stay with us when we go, but since he drives over to drop us off and then comes and has dinner with us some days, we put his name on the reservation so that he can have a room key to come and go from the lot as he pleases. Just a thought if your son is not staying with you.

You will love VGC. I think they have the most attractive decor of any of the DVC resorts.

One thing different, if you plan on cooking/using the dishes, take some detergent for the washing machine. They give you the initial supply, but out there they charge you $1.00 for each additional packet, and they are one-load packets, not small boxes that do several loads.

Thanks! I think we will be stopping at the store to get some stuff for the fridge (snacks, breakfast, beer, wine) so I will remember to pick up the detergent.

I can already tell that prices in DL are more than WDW!

I'm so excited!! Can't wait to see the VGC!

Then you might not be able to do it at the hotel. You will probably need to go to Guest Services for that or the ticket booths.

Isn't there a Guest Services at the resort when you check in?
