Hello Folks, I booked 2 rooms for the Fall Dapper days, at the Grand Californian Hotel. I am curious what type of view some of you have experienced in the past, when booking this convention rate?

I put in all my "requests", but they are just that.... Requests. Adjoining room's, first choice view of DCA, then DTD... hoping for the best here for that Phenomenal rate since we are Celebrating! :)

Thanks in advance for any comments.

They are standard view rooms.....front of hotel primarily, maybe rooftops in the courtyard (2nd or 3rd floor). Those rooms can be adjoining.....we have gotten adjoining rooms several times with the DD rates, but no park views.

"Connecting Rooms" might be a more accurate request, since adjoining rooms may not have a connecting door -- assuming you want to be connected :teacher:

Park or DTD views are more expensive, so that would take lots of pixie dust :wizard:
Courtyard/Woods view is only a minor upgrade, so that is more likely. Some Woods view rooms face DCA, but generally on lower floors or obstructed by trees (woods).

The majority of Standard view rooms are at the front of the hotel.

For our dapper day stay last month at the DLH I made requests

The Adventure Tower....but got the Fantasy tower (which ended up to be the tower I'd want to be in anyway)

A high floor...we got the 2nd floor (but meant less time in the elevator)

A resort/pool view...but got a parking lot /roof view (but could actually see some of the fireworks! Enough that we took pictures and video! Our only night of fireworks in DL had them cancelled so this worked out good afterall!)

The only thing we requested and got was "connecting" rooms.
But I'm a glass half full as it turns out and I was SO excited to be there that it all worked out perfectly and felt so magical.

Thank You for the rapid response. Yes, this is what I was already guessing...
We will just be hoping for Pixie Dust, and some Magic the day we check in!

It will be a Magical stay, no matter what!

We got a great room last fall with the Dapper Day rate! We were facing the Paradise Pier section of CA and could sit on our balcony and watch WOC. We were directly behind Goofy's Sky School.

I don`t believe they let you upgrade from a Standard room when booking Dapper Day . I tried upgrading to a Courtyard view a couple years ago and they said no, Standard view only. Side note, I wouldn`t take a Downtown Disney room . We got one once ( not Dapper Days ) and the Drums and noise was annoying. I asked the front desk how long it went on and they said until 10pm. I said that was unacceptable and they moved us to a quiet courtyard view

My problem with Courtyard view room's, is that is Designated smoking area (at least it used to be).... if I am on my balcony, I do not want to have the smoke drifting my way...

This last dapper Day, which was our first, the Paradise Pier hotel wasn't even an option to book. It was only DHL and the grand.

The room she is speaking of is at GCH. I've been in one of those rooms before. You can see people flying by on Goofy's Sky School. It's pretty cool, but also pretty noisy if people are screaming on the ride.
