I'm a long-time lurker on the DIS and currently planning a first visit to DL.
[Well, I was there for one day about 25 years ago but that doesn't really count.] We're DVC owners and frequent WDW guests, but this will be our first trip to DL and we're going without the kids! I'm excited to spend time just with DH but just know that the whole time I will be saying, oh the girls would love this, etc.! 
So I will miss them a lot. ANYWAY....
I am really writing to ask about the Grand Californian Hotel and whether it ever sells out in July.
It looks ginormous, but I know there are often conventions, etc. and I'm sure it's a popular hotel wrt location and amenities, etc. We are planning to book there in July but don't know if we should be worried that it could sell out any time (especially with all the new stuff happening this summer), or if we would be safe to wait for awhile. I know the late Spring/early Summer discounts just came out, so I imagine it would be at least another 4 weeks before any mid-Summer discounts come out, if there even will be any.
Does anyone have any insight into previous years and whether the GCH sells out in July? I know all bets are probably off for this year, again due to CarsLand and the new entrance. Guidance needed: Book Now or Wait!?
