Gaylord Palms

We took quite a few when we were there last November. Here are some of them.

Oh, I should mention that we just visited. We didn't stay there, although we may do next January.

Well thanks, autumnblue. Just checked out your profile and you share a birthday with my 15yo daughter. We were at WDW on her birthday last year.

The pics posted here are beautiful (and what a nice couple you and dh(?) are, Deb!) Anyhow, you said you just visited the Gaylord. Can you go over to eat and shop and snoop the place out? I would love to stay there because some of the swimming is enclosed. It seems like a great place to stay if you travel when the Florida weather is colder, like at Xmastime!

Please tell me if you had to take a bus over or if you were able to park. I'd love to visit when we stay at Disney in March, to scope it out for a later trip. We stay at the DVC properties, but the Gaylord looks like a great place for an extra night or two!

Thanks,

Colleen

Hi, Colleen, and thanks for your kind comments. Yes, he is my husband (Matt). We also had our 2 dds (George 17 and Harriet 15) with us - one of them took the photo, although I can't remember who.

Yes, you can just go over to eat and shop. We ate at Sunset Sam's Fish Camp for lunch, and it was very good, although I hear that the dinner menu is fabulous. We wanted to go back to try the Old Hickory Steakhouse, but we ran out of time (even though we were in Orlando for 3 weeks - just too many restaurants!). Maybe next time. The Villa de Flora in the St Augustine 'area' also looked very nice.

We drove there - we were staying in a private home on US192 just 5-10 minutes away along Osceola Parkway. The parking lot is huge, so no worries there.

I already called my Mom, who will be with us in March at OKW. I said "Pack up Dad, I found a new place to visit!" At some point during the conversation my Mom just started laughing and said "Did you hear about this on the computer?" She is amazed what ideas I get here!

We'll go visit when we are down and now we'll have a whole new list of restaurants to try out! Thanks for the info. I can't wait to see "the Everglades."

Colleen,
I don't remember any indoor swimming at GP. I think the inclosed water you saw was just part of the decor at the Key West area.

Does anyone have a list of restaurants here? My wife and I love to explore, and dinner is the perfect excuse.

Thanx.....

I just booked 7 nights x 4 rooms at the Gaylord for $92 with taxes, using priceline. We're excited and it's the same price as the all stars that we've stayed at the last trip! I used biddingfortravel.com to get the scoop on the Disney area hotels.

Does anyone know about the provided transportation to the parks?
