Yay or nay? Personally, being a stickler for a little thing called Civil Rights, think that if a gay couple wants to be Federally recognized as two people who love eachother, then they should be able to.

i don't care much either. the US isn't my country, and around here we're aloud to marry who we want.

It is kind of funny, on CNN, a gay woman send in a message saying she does not think they should be allowed to marry. I can't remember her reason however. I personally was rooting for the ban, but it didn't so oh well. I am not going to go out there and harass them unlike others.

Why would you root for a violation of civil rights.Would you like segregation to be legal again too?

You cant help who you fall in love with, thats the thing. Love is so powerfull, and it shouldnt be broken by law.

Thizz: you have an amazing point. And i agree.

I personally say that gay marriage should not be left to the government. If should be left to the churches to say yes or no. What should happen though, is that they should be able to get civil unions (just like they are now), but get the rights of a married couple (ie - insurance coverage for partner, be able to visit partnet in hospital even though they arent blood related, etc).

Being involved in theatre and colorguard, a majority of my guy friends are gay. heck, my best guy friend is gay. so yeah... that's basically what they think too. :)

Heh, it's love. If they love someone let them be with them. Honestly, I think it's kinda disturbing, but my best friend is gay. This means he can get married when he's older! =D

i agree!

(by the way, WELCOME!) :goodvibes

I don't mind... espcially because my brother hangs out with a gay person...

I have to agree with everyone who says love is boundless. The US ought to butt out of other's business once in a while... (I'm american!)

If gays want to marry, be my guest. I really don't have a problem with it, as long as they don't bother me about it.

I think banning gay marriage is the most pointless thing EVER. Bush has his priorities 100% wrong. Hey, let's unjustly invade Iraq and have thousands of innocent people killed, but marry someone you love of the same sex... that's an outrage! It's so stupid. If you love someone, you love someone. Since when is that a bad thing? People should be able to marry who they want. And when it comes to religion... I thought God doesn't discriminate? Who is some religious leader to decide who can marry whom? I thought religion was all about love and acceptance. It's all so hypocritical.

I don't think it's anyone's business but the couples' on how they wish to declare their love for eachother. The government shouldn't be the ones to make that decision.
