The ban on gay marriage legislation in Congress is just a diversion to beef up conservative support with upcoming state elections.
I mean, with all the issues going on with our country right now, why else would they bring up the propoisition of such an amendemnt? It'll never pass in either houses of Congress.

I'm definitely all for it. The majority of my friends are bi, and I also have gay and lesbian friends as well. To know that one day when they want to be married, they'll be denied that opportunity, and it absolutely breaks my heart. Why someone's gender should matter makes no sense to me. Why deny people happiness? Are they not just like us except for liking the same gender? It's completely STUPID of Bush to be banning this [just like everything else he does], but that's a whole different issue...

all im going to say is, the government shouldnt really care. people are always looking for something to talk/complain about, and this happens to be one of the most talked about topics. and besides, isnt their a "war" going on? shouldnt the government be worried about that?

if people are in love then let them do what their hearts tell them to. love is genderless. you cant choose who you fall in love with. and i support gay marriage and gay rights full heartedly.

by the way, im really surprised at all the positive replies its great to see not every teenager in america is close-minded.

I don't understand what gives anyone the right to tell gay ppl they can't get married.. Only god himself can judge us.. My thing is if gay ppl want to be married what harm is it causing anyone.. Everyone has the right to the pursuit of happiness so why shouldn't they? Some ppl say o well its not right in the eyes of god.. Well this is america where you have the right to believe in w.e god u choose to believe in.. are no god at all.. So whos to say its wrong in the religon they may have..

I reckon it is sad that the goverment gets to decide wether or not you can marry. Gay people are no differnet to us only that they like the same sex people.
