Gay Days Ticket Question and Concern

My friend was looking into the Gay Days ticket for her trip on Oct 12-15. She called Disney and was told that the tickets were valid until Oct. 16, but the first day had to be within 3 days of the gay days convention ending ( the 11th). That is certainly not printed on my Gay Days ticket anywhere, but wanted to see if anyone had any idea if this could be true? It is rather vague on the website and does mention something about 3 days after the convention. What do you all think???

I hope not! My SIL and BIL just bought those tickets, and the first day in the park will be the Oct 12th.

That's what I thought, but definitely not what they told her on the phone. Although we all know how accurate that can be. How can the 3 days of the convention end be the 16th? Doesn't the convention run the 5-7th? I just hope your right. Very confusing.

I just called Disney as well to see if they could tell me the expiration date and the cast member stated that I would need to find out through Gay Days and that she didn't know. She tried to get me to purchase tickets with her at regular price several times!

We are going on 10-15-10-16 and it would save us a ton of $...should I buy the convention tickets? Anyone have more details?

Wow, if that's true then I'm buying these discounted tix. I interpreted it to be they must be first used within 3 days of the convention's end (therefore by 10/10/12) and are good for 14 days from first use.

Has anyone called to find out for sure yet?

I have to say, my tickets say Nothing about having to be used by 10-10. They just say "expires 13 days after 10/3/12." But the website seems to be not clear about it.

First number was a bust. Second number, I spoke to Carlos who could not sell me the tickets but was able to confirm that the last date the Gay Days tickets could be used is October 16th.

I have reservations for Club 33 on the 16th thanks to some major , and was planning on hitting DCA on the 17th. I guess I can buy the 1 day hopper for the 16th and a regular ticket for the 17th and still save plenty of money!!

This is the part on the ticket purchase page that I don't understand. What do they mean with the third day after the last day bit? I get that the tickets are valid until the 16th, but what is this third day part?

I had to ask that question also. The CM said the ticket had to be activated ( 1st day used) by the 3rd day after the end of the convention(end Oct 8th). So as the OP said, Oct 11th.

I agree with you, but am really surprised. This was very small print on the bottom of the order page. (You know, the stuff you ignore?) It doesn't have anything about activating the ticket by the 11th. on the actual ticket. Do you think they will turn away someone on the 12th with a 3 day ticket?

I would hold up the ticket and ask them where it says that. Escalate nicely.

This is the way I understand it as well. If you are attending the convention, you have 3 days after it ends to activate your ticket and must use all the days before October 16th. The convention is the 5th to 7th so 3 days after that your tickets must be activated.

It's my impression that there is no formal 'convention', as in a set of events at the convention center that people have registered to attend. So the dates of the 'convention' may be on the loose side. There are events organized by the Gay Days folks on the 5th-7th, I think. But the tickets are probably good being activated from the 3rd-16th because it's a 2-week span surrounding the convention events.

But the tickets (and multiple CMs confirm) state "Expires 10/16/12". I wouldn't push my luck or hold my breath that they'd be accepted after that date.

I'm a little stuck on the "3rd day after the convention ends" language too. I would be purchasing a 1 day hopper to use on 10/16, so it makes no sense to activate it before that day. I really wish we had some straight (ha ha ha) answers!
