Gay Days - are parks extra crowded?

We were at WDW June 4 - 9 this year so we just missed the official dates for Gay Days in Orlando. We saw that this convention had the 4 WDW parks scheduled on various days to attend.

Their last scheduled event was MK on June 4 but we did not go there that day since we just arrived then. Overall we thought the parks got more and more crowded as the week went by, especially by Thursday, June 8 which was well past Gay Days for their official scheduling at least.

Next year we would like to go to WDW a few days earlier, leaving Fri, June 1 rather than waiting for Sunday. That is the weekend for Gay Days next year. The website lists May 31 thru June 3, 2007 for their convention.

Can anyone who was in the parks this year or in the past speak to whether the parks are more crowded that usual at this time of year with a very large convention such as Gay Days in Orlando? (If this topic was previously addressed please provide the link of the post as the search just will not work for me!)

I am pretty sure that the days set for the specific parks are crowded. I do believe only certain specified park days are the busy ones though (not the whole week per se).

I haven't found that Gay Days overcrowd the parks. The first and second week in June is just as busy as any week during the summer. Except for the Sat that is scheduled for MK, that day the crowd seems bigger than usual, I don't know if it really is, maybe its more noticable because those coming to MK that day for that event all wear red.

But overall summer crowds are summer crowds. If you visit anytime in summer it's going to be crowded. Really crowded. Unless a hurricane is hitting Orlando, I've heard WDW is not crowded during a cat 2 or higher hurricane. Named tropical storms and cat 1 hurricanes tend not to affect crowd levels. ;)

I really have not noticed any huge crowd difference during this time. If all else fails, find someone participating and ask them to let you in on their schedule, then pan to go elsewhere. This is what we do T'giving to avoid huge crowds of All-Star cheerleaders.

We did not notice a spike in attendance eirther just heavy summer crowds.

We went during this time 2 years ago and it was the busiest that I have ever seen the MK. All the FP's were gone by the AM. I will never go to the MK on that day again and probably not go to WDW during that week again. :headache:

I knew it was Gay days on some of the days we were there. We avoided MK on that Sat. The other parks were not crowded and we could not even tell it was gay days at the other parks. We did MGM on that Sat. and their were more people around for the Star Wars weekend, but the rides/attractions were fine.
