Gay Day rates?

I booked the DLH with the Gay Day rate from Sept. 29 till Oct. 7. I called them to ask if I can already go to Disneyland on Sept. 30. They told me not with the Gay Day Ticket but with a regular Convention Ticket (6 day park hopper for 190 Dollars) it would be possible. I double-checked with two different cast members and booked it. This is the number I called: 714-520-5005

Kate -
I just looked at my tickets and they say specifically "Valid 10/3/12 through 10/16/12". So I am fairly sure that they are not going to be valid 3 days after the 16th.

Hmm, that is a good point Kalamity! I wasn't combining the two series of dates. So I wonder which it is then? I'm tempted to take the date printed on the tickets, vs. the "expires three days from last day of convention." It sounds like you already have your tickets, and it says they are good through the 16th right on them?

I'm just trying to decide if I should do this. I already have pre-price increase hoppers booked, but Gay Days tix would save my family about $200, so that would certainly be nice! Just worried that if I buy the convention tix and show up on Oct. 9-14, I'll be told my tickets are no good!

If the tickets are valid 10/3/12 through 10/16/12, why are you concerned that they will not be accepted 10/9/12 through 10/14/12? I am not understanding your concern. - confused -

This :worship::woohoo:

I hope that I'm not totally out of line for suggesting this, but I think it would be awesome if everyone taking advantage of these great deals arranged by the Gay Days Anaheim organization would show their support/appreciation by wearing red shirts in the parks on Saturday or Sunday. If you don't have a red shirt, even just wearing a red ribbon, or tying one to your bag/stroller/mickey ears/child would be great.

Wearing red isn't just for gays and lesbians, it's for everyone who is there to support them.

Well, I wasn't worried a bit until I saw someone post this:

"All of these tickets expire on the third day after the last day of the specified convention."

It's in fine print at the bottom of the ticket purchase page. So that seems to conflict with the dates printed on the tickets. And I couldn't get a definitive answer when I called, the CM was very weird and evasive and told me that usually those tickets aren't good after the convention. So I guess I'm just worried because there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.

That said, if the dates printed on the tickets say 10/3 - 10/16, that seems like a pretty good argument for them being valid for those dates, doesn't it! So I think I may just give it a chance. The money we save would almost pay for our dinners at Carthay Circle AND Blue Bayou!

OK, so the way I'm reading this is that the "convention" runs from Oct. 3-16, at least for ticket purposes. Because why would the tickets say they can be used through the 16th if they really expire on the 9th?

My take, and this is totally just my interpretation, is that the tickets expire 3 days after the 16th. So if you activate on the 16th, you only have three days to use them. Did anyone else understand it that way?

I called Disney today, and the CM was a little vague, and told me that I had to follow the dates printed on the ticket. When I said it was the 3-16, she said I should be good to go then... but I'm still a little nervous. Anyone else want to shed some light?

When I called Disney yesterday the CM told me she had no clue. Since Disney doesn't actually sell the tix she cant answer any questions about them. This was straight from the CM's mouth. I was told to perhaps call the 3rd party vendor that sells the tix. This was BIG news to me. I just assumed Disney sold the tix.

I am not sure about the tickets, but the number for the hotels is definitely through disney. It is the group and convention reservation line, rather than the main line. I did not feel that it was through a third party, perhaps the tickets are different?

When you order the tickets online, it's directly from Disneys site..so I don't know why they wouldnt know about it..

That's exactly what I thought! But the CM I spoke with was pretty clear that Disney does NOT sell them. She told me to go to the separate gay days website to purchase & that it was all done through a 3rd party. Very strange...

odd because i was transfered to the group sales where i had questions about the agy day tickets i bought and they took care of me. disney did sale them on the site i ordered from it was a disney site

Your CM must've been confused or defines 'third party' differently than most. The site you buy the tickets is the same as any other tickets-- tickets.disney.go.com.

If they were sold by a third party, I'd think that would be even more evidence that the dates on the tickets must be correct.

And even if we're wrong, I think Disney would just charge you the balance of the cost for non-convention tickets, not tell you your tickets are garbage and you have to repurchase entirely.

I purchased gay days park tickets as well as made reservations at DLH a while back. Since then I have called more than a few times to asked random questions ( they must love me right?) and from what I understand, both tickets and hotel are booked/sold by Disney, however through a completely different department. Regular CM's will not be able to help you with either and maybe not even know about it at all. IF you do talk to a regular CM, you need to tell then they are convention tickets and convention hotel reservations, they will transfer you ( that I if you do not have the direct number to convention tickets/reservations already). The number is the one in the gaydaysanaheim.com home page.

Jen541 - did you get etickets or hard tickets for park entrance?

E tickets to print out... Do u think that might make a difference? Or no?

Thank you OP! I saved about $75 on my daughter's parkhopper. I would not have known about this but for these boards :disrocks:

Jen541 - I am sure they are a great option. Do they look like tickets or is it just an email with bar code type thing? Does it reference the particular gay days conference with Specific dates or are they generic like the website?

They have monsters character on it with barcode, I think it says they expire 13 days after 10/13 but do not say gay days or the word conference on them

Seems like so many conflicting reports on these. Are they good until the 16th or what? Lol
