Gay Day rates?

I hope that I'm not totally out of line for suggesting this, but I think it would be awesome if everyone taking advantage of these great deals arranged by the Gay Days Anaheim organization would show their support/appreciation by wearing red shirts in the parks on Saturday or Sunday. If you don't have a red shirt, even just wearing a red ribbon, or tying one to your bag/stroller/mickey ears/child would be great.

Wearing red isn't just for gays and lesbians, it's for everyone who is there to support them.

to the person who said there doing party on the 5th with fam, what about also doing the party on the 2 with just you and your child so you can still take advantage of the convintion tickets

I called back yesterday just to confirm my reservation and it is all set to go!!! I am so excited. I will certainly try to wear red or get some sort of ribbon to tie to my bag. I am certainly a supporter. Not to mention the convention looks really fun! I want to play the scavenger hunt :-) Sounds like a challenge.

For those of you thinking about buying these for times other than the convention dates, beware.....

(From the fine print on the ticket order page)

"All of these tickets expire on the third day after the last day of the specified convention. Dates vary according to convention. Tickets are not available for purchase at the Box Office and are only valid for convention attendees and their family and friends. Limit eight (8) tickets per conventioneer"

I do not see this anymore on the ticket order page? Since I will be arriving the 10th, I'm wondering if this is the case anymore?

Love it! I think we're going to do it even though we'll be there after Gay Days officially ends. Showing support is the least those of us taking advantage of this great deal can do!

The page says they are good for the 3rd thru the 16th- so those are the days they can used. The tix have always been valid for the days listed.

It does still say that in the fine print at the bottom of the ticket order page. I'm going to assume the not-so-fine print at the page before supercedes it.

It looks like most rooms are sold out. I'm getting nothing available Oct. 4-8. :(

So what does that exactly mean? It says the tickets are good until the 16th for gay days..

The physical gay days convention tickets that I have say valid oct 3 through 16 on them.
As to the rooms being sold out online, call the number for bgroup bookings and ask for the gay days rate, there are still vrooms available as of the other day.

I would assume it's old boilerplate on the ticketing site which doesn't apply to this convention. If you're concerned, you should probably call.

I can't find anything about a time or place for a gay days convention anywhere. Is just being in disneyland and showing your support considered attending the convention?:confused3

I called Disney today with some other questions on gay days tix & was told that Disney doesn't sell them & they couldn't answer my questions. :(

They suggested I contact the 3rd party who sells them as they had no clue. This was news to me- I had just assumed these tix were direct from Disney. The web page to purchase sure does look like them...

It's not a really a convention. There are some organized gatherings, but no registration, no requirements, and no official "meetings". You show up in a red shirt, and you're part of Gay Days. To make is as easy as possible for people who want to participate, they've arranged with Disneyland to offer hotel rooms and tickets at reduced prices.

If you're curious about their official schedule, you can find it here: Gay Days Anaheim Schedule They have some fun activities, and they're open to all.

:woohoo:
Thank you. That's what I thought but wasn't sure about the fine print on the tickets. Just wanted to make sure that they would be valid.

OK, so the way I'm reading this is that the "convention" runs from Oct. 3-16, at least for ticket purposes. Because why would the tickets say they can be used through the 16th if they really expire on the 9th?

My take, and this is totally just my interpretation, is that the tickets expire 3 days after the 16th. So if you activate on the 16th, you only have three days to use them. Did anyone else understand it that way?

I called Disney today, and the CM was a little vague, and told me that I had to follow the dates printed on the ticket. When I said it was the 3-16, she said I should be good to go then... but I'm still a little nervous. Anyone else want to shed some light?

Kate -
I just looked at my tickets and they say specifically "Valid 10/3/12 through 10/16/12". So I am fairly sure that they are not going to be valid 3 days after the 16th.
