Hi everyone! :wave2: I was just wondering, I've read info that says Gay Day rates were available to everyone. Is this true? Can you apply the discount to already existing reservations? It would save me over 1500 if I could apply the rates... TIA! :flower3:

Yes anyone can take advantage of them. I don't know if you can apply the discount to existing reservations. I would just create a new reservation under the promotional rate, see if it goes through, then cancel my existing reservation.

Yaya! Thank you all for the info. I called the number on my existing reservation and when I asked about the Gay Days rates, they transfered me to the right department. I had to make new reservations and cancel the old. Saved LOTS!! Got DH for $179 compared to $289! Would never have found out about it if not for all of you here! Thank you!pixiedust:

Do I need to book through the Gay Days website?

You can book through the Gay Days site, but I just called the # on my old reservation. The same number as you see on the Disneyland website to make reservations. I asked for the Gay Day rates, and they transfered me, and I made the ressies over the phone.

I'm going to be at Disneyland Oct 11-14. Is it possible to combine a stay with the Gay Days rates for the 11th with regular rates for the 12th and 13th? How would I do that if you have to book these rates through their website?

Here's a question...I see that the room rates are available to everyone...What about the Park Tickets? They are listed as "Convention" but shows the option to buy a 6 day park hopper. Those are much better rates than the regular Disneyland website, and you have the option to buy the 6 day pass. What's the catch?

My understanding is....There is no catch. The Convention rates are only offered to groups who have negotiated a deal with Disney because they bring in x amount of people during their 'convention'. The rates are only good for a limited time, so pay attention to the dates. It's not offered to the public, so you have to go through the link listed for each organization that the rates are offered. The Gay Day's link and rates have been graciously shared with this board. For the convention tickets you will not get any EMH's (or MM's, whichever they are called).

I just booked a pool view room with the Gay Days rate and the confirmation said it was "w/ Concierge" -- what in the world could that mean? At that price, I can't imagine that it is actually at the concierge level.

No matter what, the price was great. We added a day to our trip and it was still hundreds cheaper than the rate I had already booked.

You're at the DLH? When I look, I see the only pool view being described as: "Pool view (Adventure Tower) w/ Concierge - 2 Queen Beds " and it's at a rate of 304 per night.

The standard room is 179.

So your situation is pretty confusing!

I think you have to call Disney to add days at the regular price.

The room you got is only available concierge. From the gay days site:
"Pool view (Adventure Tower) w/ Concierge - 2 Queen Beds
Max guests:
Watch all of the fun and enchantment of the pool complex as you relax in the comfort of your room at the whimsical Disneyland® Hotel. Plus, enjoy the convenience and luxury of our exclusive concierge amenities."
So for that rate you get concierge. What a great deal!!!

Are you looking at the Disney website? They don't have the Gay Day rates listed. You have to look at their site and you have to go during those dates. It is a great deal!!!

Wow I didn't know you could reserve a concierge level room at the Disneyland Hotel. I'm considering cancelling my Grand Californian reservations and getting one. I wonder if it's worth the $79 extra per night.

Anyone know if I can get concierge for the Grand with a Gay Day rate? Can I call and add that? I've already got the Grand booked thru the Gay Days website but I didn't see concierge as a choice..

I was quoting directly from the gay days booking site. Exactly what you quoted, but you included more.

I've had the standard DLH room booked for weeks now through them as well.
The previous poster talked about the great deal they got, and unless someone is trying to book a concierge room, I just don't see 304 as being so great they didn't know it was concierge! 179 is great; 304 for just a pool view room, not so much.

I was thinking about the room plus tickets. Getting a pool view room and 4-day hoppers was $600 less using the Gay Days rate than the package I had already booked. I guess the package I had booked was not that great a deal, but I thought saving $600 was already enough -- saving that much and getting a concierge room seemed unrealistic.

But I guess it is not! :thumbsup2

For those of you thinking about buying these for times other than the convention dates, beware.....

(From the fine print on the ticket order page)

"All of these tickets expire on the third day after the last day of the specified convention. Dates vary according to convention. Tickets are not available for purchase at the Box Office and are only valid for convention attendees and their family and friends. Limit eight (8) tickets per conventioneer"

Thank you to the OP for this thread. I stumbled upon it last night and was able to save myself $1200 over my existing reservation at GCH.:cool1: I called the Disney Travel Company and was told they didn't have this rate so I just cancelled my existing reservation and booked online through the Gay Days website.

As a pp mentioned I too am interested in upgrading from a standard room to concierge at the GCH. I might call the Group Bookings number given on the site later this week to check how much it would be. They are closed today.

Thanks again everyone!
