Well we survived the first bit of the leg! Got to the Hilton last night around 6pm, and phoned Maple Manor for the meet and greet. All went off without a hitch - the man was waiting for us outside the Hilton and our car duly toddled off. Checked in to the room which was lovely, very clean and the girls loved the bunk beds although as expected there was a fight over the top bunk

.
After we dumped some of our bags, we walked over to do twilight check-in - another great invention for us. It was lovely just to leave the bags the night before and then feel like the holiday had started.
Went back to the Hilton where a free meal was part of the booking. It was a 3-course buffet meal for the four of us. Really good food to be fair, all hot and tasty. They had a kids section which the girls had lovely fish from, together with the obligatory wedges and baked beans! I had a salad for starters, chicken dinner for main and a small(!) piece of chocolate cake for dessert. OH just had a lamb rogan josh for a main but he said it was really tasty.
Got back to the room around 8pm and decided to take it easy for the rest of the night.
We all slept well and woke up around 7.30am. Toddled around getting ready and left the room around 9am - off to departures!! Had a quick stop in Animal where the girls got a new t-shirt each.......I fancied a few things but resisted for the minute! Then off to the V-room where I am dutifully typing now. I do think this place is fab - keeps the kids occupied the entire time and all the food and drink included in the price. It just feels like such a treat unwinding before the chaos of the flight and entertaining the kids! Hoping there is a good selection of films this year for them to watch! Anyway just gave the kids their cereal, yoghurt and jelly while I have eaten cereal and a cooked breakfast.
So nice full tummies ready to go! Here's hoping to no delays and knowing the next time I write will hopefully be in the Florida sunshine!
