Has anyone been to Gatorland?

What's it like? We are thinking of going at the end of the month. How much time should we plan? How much are tickets? Can we get discount tickets/coupons anywhere?

TIA.

We've been to Gatorland a couple of times in the past.... Yes... I think it is worth seeing once....especially the kids will think it's cool... Go to www.gatorland.com and I'm sure they will list prices and other info.... Have fun!

We went to Gatorland in 2007. I had 2-for-1 coupons from the Orlando Entertainment Book. I used a coupon for my wife and me. And my two kids used a coupon. So we got in for half-price.

You can get the coupons by purchasing the Orlando Entertainment Book. Right now they are being offered at 35% off with FREE shipping. Just using the gatorland coupons pays for the book and you also get coupons for other attactions and lots of 2-for-1 restaurant coupons.

If you purchase the book now, you should get it before you leave for Florida.

We went in 2007 they were fixing a few things up which I am sure they are done now so it looks better. MY kids had a great time. We did the package which includes the picture sitting a live croc.:scared: The kids loved that.

I consider it old time Florida. The kids really enjoyed it. It's a relaxing day away from the parks.

My ds2 loved the spash park they had, and he had all to himself (last week May 2008). The shows are good and the crocs are amazing! We're Canadian so we really liked the authentic florida feel. This year they have some of the most rare Albino Crocs and we're goign to go back on our next trip just to see them. The crocs of the world are cool, they had large crocs from the Nile, etc that I have never seen in a zoo before. I bought hot dogs to feed to the crocs - very fun! Don't miss the Gator Wrestlin show or Jumperoo! I also use they 2-for-1 coupon from the entertainment book, and kids under 3 are free, everybody else around $20 (more if you want a tour or ride the train). They also have a coupon you can print out off the website for a few dollars off I think, or there is a discdount from the Orlando Fun card for a few bucks off if you don't want to buy the EB, but you can only use one or the other! Hope that helps!

Does Gatorland allow you to bring in your lunch or beverages? Sometimes the add ons can really bring up the cost of the day, especially for a large family. I know some place near us have picnic facilities right next to the parking. That would work fine. Grammy

I went with my mom and lil brother back in like 96 or 97.... it was actually pretty fun...

I don't know if you can bring in your own food. Just call them and find out.

You should at least try the gator ribs and nuggets. My extremely finicky kids tried some and they liked it.

We really enjoyed Gatorland & spent several hours there. They do have an outdoor cafe with reasonable prices. We didn't eat, but purchased the large (32 oz??) sippers for $3.99 each & got refills of Icee's for about a dollar more. Here is the pdf of the menu: http://www.gatorland.com/pdf/gatorlandMenu2008-2009.pdf

I did a little research and I think we will skip it this trip. It sounds really interesting, so we'll check it out another time. (I'll admit it, I'm really freaked out about the snakes too!:))
