Gatlinburgh cabin rentals

We have a group of 40+ staying at the Little Valley Mountain Resort in Sevierville (Next to Pigeon Forge) next week. My immediate family has not been to Pigeon Forge, but some of the 40+ have and they love this place. The cabins are beautiful and the resort has a heated swimming pool, mini-golf, catch and release fishing, and a 9 hole 3-par golf course. I'll give you my assessment of the area once we return...I am kind of an amusement park/beach girl...so this is really stretching it for me!

We stayed at the Preserve last summer. Heated pool, private hot tub, unbelievable views! Gorgeous, will stay again!

We've stayed at Cobbly Nob resort and really loved it. They have a golf course and pool access (I think they have 3 outdoor pools but we didn't go swimming). Thought it was great and not too, too expensive. Most of the nicer cabins are expensive to me!

In April, I rented a 1 bedroom villa in the Wyndham Smoky Mountains resort from a Wyndham owner that I found through the DISBoards. Now the Wyndham is a timeshare resort but renting from an owner means no timeshare presentation, etc. They had indoor and outdoor pools, super nice complex. The unit was much larger than a DVC 1 bedroom unit and just as nice if not nicer (and I'm a DVC owner). I believe Wyndham Smoky Mtns has at least 3, maybe 4 bedroom units. The complex is in Sevierville though (not Gatlinburg), not even a mile or so from the HUGE Tanger Oaks Outlet Mall. Sits up on the hill, not much of a view but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ate dinner at The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge and it was FANTASTIC! LOTS of food so come VERY hungry or be prepared to take home pretty much another meal. Loved it there, we'll be going back each trip from now on.

We rented a cabin with a friend in Sevierville. It was nice and was right by the pool but for the life of me I cannot find that cabin online.

Be aware that many cabins are located on very scary mountain roads. I about had a heart attack each time we had to climb that steep hill. My husband and I fought twice a day on that trip: on the way down the mountain road into town and on the way up the mountain road to go back to the cabin. It was terrifying.

The area is very touristy but it has charm and there is lots to do. I highly reccomend the Ripley's Aquarium, especially if you have kids. Our whole group loved it, even me, and I have a fish phobia (don't ask, lol). And you gotta do Dollywood. It's a lovely theme park.

Another vote here for The Old Mill. Make sure you take some time to look around the shops right there. They are pretty cool. We will be there again the last weekend in July and are looking forward to our meal there!

I looked at the Preserve and it looks gorgeous but there are several reviews on tripadvisor mentioning bedbugs and mice/rats, so that made me really nervous.

We honeymooned in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area 5 years ago. We used Cabin Fever Vacations. The original cabin we reserved was sold by its owner and Cabin Fever was very accomodating in helping us find a new cabin. We stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom cottage about 2 miles off of stop light number 10. Very convenient to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

We ate a lot in our cabin but we did really enjoy Black Bear Jamboree. We loved strolling the shops in Gatlinburg and the outlet malls in Pigeon Forge. We played mini golf in Pigeon Forge as well. The Old Mill was fun as well. We also enjoyed the aquarium in Gatlinburg. It was fun and very interesting the way that everything was set up. Our favorite thing we did was the drive through Cades Cove. We truly loved the scenery and the wild animals. It was very relaxing.

Ok well I don't know about OP but we finally booked. It's not where I would have chosen but so many resorts are all booked! We are leaving Friday and my sister only finally committed Wednesday, and she has a limited budget for her share. ...So what I finally ended up doing was a "Name your own price" deal from patriotgetaways. I wish that Cabinfever did that- I emailed them and let them know they had a cabin I was interested in but it was a bit above my price range, but they weren't willing to negotiate, so...

Oh well. The only thing I wanted and didn't get was a pool table. We've got a possible Disney trip in the works for January so when I go looking for rentals there, I'll find one that has one.

We go to Gatlinburg often because we only live 2.5 hours from there. We've gone with just the two of us, our family, our family and other families, youth groups, marriage retreats, etc...

Every chalet we've been in has been wonderful. I highly recommend a chalet vs a hotel or resort. It's so amazing and peaceful to look out on the mountains.

we have a place in the hidden mountain community and they are awesome. we had stayed several times and decided that's where we wanted to buy. it's called hidden mountain resort. it's in seiverville, tn. the east cottages are the best, they are right off apple valley rd and the outlet mall is right there!

We returned from Gatlinburg last month. We hadn't been in 12 years, but decided to go again and it was a blast. We used Cobbly Nob rentals, just as another poster did and have always been impressed with their facilities.

The best experiences we had there were doing the ranger programs in the park and going to Ripley's Aquarium. Both were quite fun. The worst experience (and by far, the worst service we have ever received anywhere at any time) was at a restaurant called Corky's right on the main road in Gatlinburg. Food took an hour and was barely edible, the place was fairly empty and yet the employees had plenty of time to take smoke breaks! I'm not a complainer by nature, but it warranted a call to their corporate office. Some people rave about the place - maybe it was an off night - but proceed with caution.

Yuck, we did not see any of those things. It is a beautiful resort, gorgeous cabins. Away from all the craziness of town. Have fun!

Well I booked thru Amazing View of the Smokies - they had 3 bedroom 2 bath cabin with jaccuzi in each room 2 rooms with king beds. The cabin has a hot tub and pool table and has pool access... It looks really nice on the website

We visited Gatlinburg last month. I would also recommend eating at The Old Mill. We had fun at Dollywood's Splash Country and Ripley's Aquarium. I think our favorite part of the trip was the Hoot n Holler dinner show at Wonder Works. It was hilarious! I thought my daughter was going to fall off her chair she was laughing so hard. The food there was decent, too. Better than Dixie Stampede.

We just got back from the Smokies this past weekend. We had a blast and I'm not a "woodsy" type of girl. We did Cades Cove and hiked to Laurel Falls, we drove by the Sinks and Meigs waterfalls too. Our kids are 11 and 8 and LOVED swimming in the river. We went tubing in Townsend with River Rage, they were the least expensive (they even had a coupon in one of the many booklets available in the area). We went to the Cirque de Chine show, it was very good, more a show about the amazing talents of the performers and not so much of a story, saw Magic Beyond Belief and the Titantic. We would recommend all those attractions. We also went to Splash Country, alothough it was fun, it wasn't nearly as fun as Typhoon Lagoon. I recommend taking a small cooler and packing your lunch if you plan on hiking, we did that everyday and it worked well. Oh, the cabin we stayed in was nice and was through www.vrbo.com

We have rented through this company. It is in Townsend, TN..I think it is known as the quiet side of the mountain. Since we live near a city, I like the peace and quiet of this area. It is not too far from Cades Cove. Just a piece of advice though, if you go to Cades Cove, you may see an exit option with a sign that says something like "The next 7 miles will take approximately 1 hour". We took the chance and it took about 1 hour.

We just got back; the first thing I tried at the old mill was pancakes and I was underwhelmed, but the biscuits and gravy were amazing!
