My husband and I, both have had gb surgery. We would like to go to the CG on our trip. Could we order kids meals. We have dining cards that say we have had the surgery. We would also like to go to Norcosses'

Go to California Grill to order kids meals? :faint:

Seriously consider at least sharing an adult meal. Otherwise I wouldn't even bother going at all. California Grill is amazing. The proportions are not all that large, compared to most restaurants.

I think that is a good idea... you might want to try something to split. The food at the CG is some of the best in all of WDW, so you should try to enjoy it. I don't know what additional dining restrictions occur when you have GB surgery, but I think you could probably find something on the menu and if you can't, I have a feeling that your server and the chef would be willing to help you out, especially if you have the medical cards. Take a peek at the menu on allears and see if there are things you can eat and then take it from there, but definitely do consider sharing an adult meal. Enjoy!

I have had GB myself and I did recieve info from WDW that you can order off the kids menu, HOWEVER I find that the choices are very limiting and some not all that healthy. We tend to share or I splurge and just order my own!!!

Add me to the list of WLS people who go to Disney and love to eat the adult meals. At CG, I have one piece of the flat bread appetizer and my DH gets the rest. I have a little of his caeser salad (they call it Green Goddess though but that was changed when we were there in March, too.) Then I order the oak grilled fillet. Protein is required for us, right? What better way to get it than with steak? What I don't eat, DH finishes.

If BOTH of us had had the surgery, I'd order one salad or one appetizer and one adult meal to split. I definitely would stay away from the kids menu at Disney as it is not that healthy for us postops. Protein from the adult menu is a much better choice. I've been to Disney several times since surgery and it really isn't a problem for eating from the adult menu.

LolaBunny, welcome to the DIS.

You don't want to order icky kids meals at CG, their food is sooooo wonderful.

Are you staying somewhere where you have a fridge in your room? CG ishappy to pack up what is left of your dinner to take with you. You could enjoy it the next day too.

Good luck!
