There is a station right across the street from Pleasure Island. Although the prices aren't great, they are generally a lot better than on 535 in that area.

While I can't tell you the prices at the Exxon station that Tyler is talking about, I can vouch for his statement on gas prices on 535.

I noticed this week that the stations near Palm Parkway were charging $1.76, a full 25 cents per gallon more than the $1.51 that the 7-11 at the intersection of 535 and 536.

Avoid those gas stations on the DTD end of 535 at all costs.

On Property (Exxon by PI, Studios, and MK) stations are about $1.59... a bit more expensive than offsite, but MUCH cheaper than the 535 tourist trap area.

That 7-11 that you mentioned first is awful, they bait and switch big time. They advertise one price and it scans another, you mention it and they do nothing.

We usually go a mile or so past the 535/536 intersection to the Hess station where the prices seem to drop big time. Also, for you Sams Club members, there is a Sam's on 192.

Yes, the Hess station is MUCH better, and is often times where I go. It's only 5 mins from the Crossroads area.

Thanks for all of your replies. I am starting to think I may be better off to buy the option where you do not have to refuel. We will be driving from MCO to KSC and then returning the car the next day to DTD Marriot so I will prob use all the gas up that is in it anyway.

Is the Hess station N or S of Crossroads on 535. I'm guessing S since 535 goes off not very far N of Crossroads. Is Hess a chain in FL?

It's south... closer to 192 and the Osceola Parkway. Hess is a national chain that happens to have franchises down here. I know I've also seen them in Mass and NY.

Thanks Tyler. Don't worry about gas prices with a rental these days but when I drove in Dec/Jan I did notice that the prices on property were cheaper than those off (but nearby)! We don't have Hess here in the Chicago area.

Depending on the car you rented, you would have to drive some 400-500 miles to use up most of that tank of gas. Going from the airport to KSC and back to WDW won't even come close to using half of it.

Save yourself some money. Stop at a gas station.

ITA never prepurchase gas for a one day rental. You will be lucky to use 4 gallons.

The refuel option that the rental car agencies give you only works in your favor if you return COMPELTELY empty (ride in on fumes!) They assume that if the car has a 16 gallon tank you will use ALL 16 gallons and charge you for all 16 gallons. How many of you drive the car to empty! I just fill up at the Exxon on property. Yes, I could drive a few miles and save money, but the stations are in a good location and feel fairly safe. They are cheaper on property then just off which says something! (Not something good!)

I fill up at the gas station across from the Boardwalk all the time. They're actually usually cheaper than up here in Metro Orlando where I live, so I try to time my shopping runs accordingly, lol. (When you live in Orlando, no matter what you're trying to find, you'll end up at DTD at least once.)

My favorite thing about the Boardwalk-area gas station is that the snacks/candy/soda/bottled water prices are always seriously less than anywhere else on Disney property. (79 cents for a giant bottle of name-brand water!)

We always filled up our gas tank at the gast station on Sandlake Rd that is in the Walmart parking area! Can't think of the name of it
