Quick question, we will be towing a light TT around 2500 lbs with an expedition. Anyone have any idea how many MPG we will get? Thanks

Well, since you probably don't get very good gas mileage with the Expedition to begin with, I doubt that towing 2500 lbs will cut it down much. I can give you some data to compare, and you can take it from there. I tow about 4200 lbs with a Sport Trac. I normally get 18 mpg on the highway. Towing drops me down to about 11 mpg. But as I said, your bigger truck and lighter load will affect your mileage much less, unless you're packing about 3000 lbs of gear in the back. :earsboy:

Well, we have a TT, too (3000 lb.). We normally get 22 MPG w/o towing. With towing we get 15 MPG. I don't think you will notice too much difference in your case since an Expedition uses more gas typically than smaller SUV's or mini vans. Hope that helps. Happy Camping!

We towed our ~2500lb. pop up with a 2004 Expedition last year. From Maryland all the way to Florida! We averaged 15 mpg. We made it in 14hrs with 2 meal stops. We used to tow with an Explorer Sport - WOW what a difference with the Expedition! NICE!

Towing with a 1997 Expedition 22ft Sunline we get about 11 MPG. Usually safe to say about 300 miles a tank full.

We tow a 2700 lb popup with a 2002 Expedition and the mpg went from 15.7 to 15.2 but we have not towed over 120 miles one way on a single trip. I think with only 2500 lbs more will depend on your wind area of the trailer. Popups and high-lows have almost no wind area.
