Going to my first Garth Concert tomorrow.

What should I expect?

Got into town today and heard Free Bird coming from the Stadium.

If he plays Free Bird I will probably cry!lol

It will be amazing and incredible.

I was at the Baton Rouge concert with 102,000 new best friends.

Best concert ever.

Even created an earthquake.

Look up videos on YouTube from that concert.

And I was just a casual fan of his. But not anymore.
And Trisha joined him at the end.

Here's my description on Facebook

IT WAS INCREDIBLE! We like his greatest hits, but are not crazy fans- 80s rock is what we grew up with.

My sister loves him and went to his Orlando show and said we'd like it, so we decided to go to Baton Rouge. He's such a great entertainer and you feel like he's one of us- your brother, cousin, or great friend. Just a good guy. And I was so excited to see Tricia, too. He took so much time with the audience and the last thing he did was hug and talk to a chemo patient in the audience. Loved every second of it. He truly is one of the legends and greatest of all times.

Oh man, he puts on such a show! When I was learning to drive, my dad would crank Garth Brooks tapes as I practiced parallel parking.

It took 25 years but we finally saw him a few years ago. It’s one of my favourite memories.

So much fun! I’ve been to a few shows and a couple years ago took my neighbors and husband. None are fans of Garth Brooks or country music in general and we were all just talking the other day about how much fun it was.

I was there too!

He puts on an unbelievable show! There will be TONS of involvement from the audience. Even if you don't like Garth Brooks, no one can deny that he is the ultimate showman.

It was one of my bucket list items and when I was finally "old enough" I was so mad he had "retired" from touring. When he started the stadium tour my husband got me tickets. I am SO GLAD I got to experience that. I have been to a lot of concerts and music festivals. Nothing compares.

WOW!

Sounds like this is one thing that lives up to the hype and then some!

And to take it to another level, this is a BRAND NEW Stadium with Garth being its FIRST EVER Concert!

He is bringing his equipment to record the show which he rarely does I understand.

Does Trisha
Yearwood perform at all the shows?

A Fan Fest starts at Noon, the Stadium opens at 5:00 PM with Showtime at 7:00 PM.

What time will the bulk of the Crowd begin arriving?

Still hoping for Free Bird!lol

(Thinking Sweet Home Alabama is a "lock" since it is in Birmingham,Alabama.)

It will be awesome! Be sure to let us know how you LOVED it! And videos!

We parked about mile away from Tiger Stadium- got there at least 2 hours before 5 and were concerned if we would find a place to park, even then. We walked to the gate about 5:30 and went in early for t-shirts, snacks, and bathroom .

I do believe Trisha is at all of this stadium tour shows.

Here onsite!

Decided to come on down and hang out at one of the Restaurant bars here.

Would Garth have already done Sound Check?

Crazy scene-Comic Con is here as well!lol

Just saw that Garth Sound Checked at 6:30 AM!

Said he took the Stadium for a Test Ride!

Garth Freaking Brooks

GARTH FREAKING BROOKS

I will put it this way-this was the first Concert in the history of Protective Stadium and it will always be the BEST Concert in the history of the Stadium!

Unless Garth comes back.

Yes, Trisha performed at our concert in N. Dakota a few years ago. Garth gives 120% of himself in his concerts. He was getting a little hoarse, so Trisha stepped up and sand a few songs and then he sang with her. I don't know if they do that at each show or not. He is amazing and worth every penny. The only thing I would do different is NOT be on the floor in front of the stage. We were about half way back and we had to stand for the entire show which wasn't easy for this grandma, LOL. I will never forget how great that show was, and thank my daughter for the best Mother's Day present ever:)

Well I have somewhat recovered from the euphoria!lol

Just a few notes.

The amazing first ever Protective Stadium Concert will live on!

Garth told us he is working on a Live Album for The Stadium Tour,he is only recording a handful of shows and we were one of them.

The album will be called Garth Brooks-Killer Live.

He did a Lynyrd Skynyrd "medley" of Simple Man/Free Bird/Gimmee Three Steps/Sweet Home Alabama that I hope makes the Album-the crowd went nuts!

And I am pretty sure a certain Garthquake song from the Baton Rouge show will make the cut!

I would tell anyone who hasn't seen him Live to get on out there soon-at 60 years old I am not sure how much longer he can keep doing such high-energy shows!

There were a couple of times he had to bend over with hands on knees to catch his breath that I thought we were going to lose him!lol

Trisha Yearwood did come out at the end and her cheers rivaled Garths'!

My favorite line by Garth during the Show:

"I will let y'all in on a little secret-this Guitar is seldom turned on,I just wear it to hide my gut."lol

Ok... I was also at the Birmingham show Saturday night. I considered myself a casual Garth Brooks fan. I knew the hits and knew the words to a couple of songs but never really got into Garth or any country music. DAMN... that was the best concert I have ever been to, and Ive been fortunate to go to a lot of good shows. I was truly blown away. Our group was trying to figure out what it was that made it so good. The final decision was you can't put your finger on it, the guy just has the IT factor. The energy, the emotion, the connection with the audience. You just knew he left it all on the stage for his audience. I was also very impressed that every ticket to the show from front row to the nose bleeds were the same price $100. Then he stuck to his plan to keep the scalped tickets down in price by releasing a huge chunk of tickets a few days before the show also all priced $100.

As a Birmingham native I will say this about the venue... In my opinion they blew it, but its Birmingham we screw pretty much everything up. They had the fan fest and they knew people would be showing up hours early. All the restaurants were packed full with three hour plus waits to get in for a table at 3pm. Lines for drinks were an hour long at the restaurants. There was no food trucks and no pop up tent drink vendors to pull demand away from the restaurants. No port o potties, so if you needed to go to the restroom you had to go into one of the restauarants or the hotel. The cell servce was so overwhelmed phones were useless at times. We were in line for a few drinks, at the one outside vendor tent, which took over an hour. The guy in front of us tried paying with a card and it took forever whie the vendor was saying the service was terrible and they had been having trouble all day. We ordered and our friend ordered at the same time. We all loaded up on drinks since we knew we werent going back in line. In short close to $150 in beer was had for free when the vendors couldnt get the mobile pay thing to work. After we walked away they switched to cash only. Lots of loud groans from people in line. there was also some crownd flow and control issues inside the satdium due to poor placement of concert merchandise stands in relation to the concession stands.

I will say the new stadium is a great facility and was desperatly needed. All the issues above didnt take away from a great day and an absolutely wonderful event.

A few times at the Baton Rouge show, I told dh 'that has to be for a recording '. When Garth said or did something.

I told dh several times, I hope he doesn't have a heart attack on stage! Lol

I feel sure there will be songs/moments from Baton Rouge in a new video. Can't wait to see it.

So glad you loved it. It's so fun to relive the concert through others who recently went.

Same here-not a huge Garth Fan UNTIL THIS SHOW!!!!

I agree-he has more onstage energy and charisma than any entertainer INCLUDING Mick Jagger and The Boss and seems to have sincere love for people and I think those 2 things are what sets him apart.

His interaction with fans is unmatched-at one pont in the show, midsong,he slung his Guitar around to his back, looked at a pregnant Women in the crowd, made the Love/Heart sign with his hands and then rubbed his stomach letting the woman know he was so happy for her.

WHO ELSE DOES THAT?!

Hopefully they will learn from this first show and line all the streets in that area with port-o-potties and Food Trucks for the next Concert.

The next Act has their work cut out for them!

I totally agree about Garth trying to keep costs down for folks-I was STUNNED to see his Shirts for $25.00-I can't remember the last Concert that I paid less than $40.00 for a Shirt.

I think staying in the Hotel right at the Stadium for the weekend would have been so cool.
