The 205 305 and 405 are all on sale at amazon through the 29th.
That is so tempting, but I can't read the screen without my glasses and I don't run in my glasses because they fog up.
Joan Lately I've been running with the screen showing only distance, so it's one giant number, LOL! I do run with my glasses, but always look under the lens and up close to read my Garmin. The things we must do to accommodate our shortcomings!

Saylan My 305 (which is basically the same as the 205) has an interval setting that allows you to do a specific distance or time and then a specific rest distance or time for a set number of laps. Also, you can set just a time alert that would go off at the same time (say, every 2 minutes). I used to use a Timex Ironman Sleek, which was just a watch, but had an interval timer that let me set it for different time lengths, so for example, I could run 9 minutes, then walk 1 minute. If you don't need the GPS function to track routes or keep track of distances, then a watch may serve you just fine for around $25.

Yeah, I'm looking to do say 2:15 run and 45 seconds rest but I use a treadmill so I can watch the time. I'm trying to figure out a way to maintain my timing on an outdoor run. The comments on the GPS functions of the Garmin seem to be pretty negative on the review pages. Do you find the GPS is a vital part? I was kind of liking the heart rate monitor since I don't currently monitor my rates now but I should be due to family history.
I feel stupid, what is the diff between the 405 and the 305. I want something to help with pace and distance since the trails I run on are not marked. I also cannot see very well without my reading glasses so not sure if this is for me.
thanks!
If I just want to keep track of time distance, and have be able to set a pace like 1 min walk, 2 min jog type thing can I get away with the 205?
