I have a friend coming round for a meal at the weekend and she hates it :headache: ...the majority of my meals have garlic in the ingredients, it gives the dish flavour.

I married an Italian - good thing since I already loved Garlic. If I don't have garlic in my house, I need to go grocery shopping.

Well, I don't hate it, but it hates me, LOL. I have irritable bowel syndrome, and garlic is my biggest trigger food. So I obviously avoid Italian food, but you'd be surprised how many meals have garlic in them. I miss it, but it's just not worth the pain!

I love garlic, but garlic hates me. :rotfl:

I've had to cut it out of my diet recently and I hate it!

I  garlic. I feel about cilantro the way your friend feels about garlic.:crazy2:

I love it - I just wish it didn't make me so stinky!

We are going to eat at Carrabba's for DH's b-day tonight so I will be partaking in my share of garlic tonight. Good thing I don't work tomorrow! :crazy2:

seems like I'm in the minority ... I don't like garlic at all and never use it in anything I cook, even if the recipe calls for it ... it drives my DH crazy because he loves it ...

We have this restaurant out here called the Stinkin' Rose. I won a night in a fancy hotel because of a work thingie and the Stinkin' Rose was down the street. Good lord, was it good!

We now make something we found we love there. Take a whole garlic, coat in olive oil, then roast it on the grill. It just meeeeeellllllttttsss when you eat each clove.

Hate it and when my husband eats it he has to stay away from me. Yuck!

LOVE IT!!!!!!
All my recipes include garlic. If they don't I just add it. :rotfl2:

I hate garlic, garlic breath, garlic sweat... hate it. Very strange considering my Lebanese/Italian/Spanish background :rotfl: . I think I was switched at birth.

There's a place here in NJ called The Garlic Rose and their whole menu has garlic items. They even have garlic ice cream.

I love garlic.

Oh, how I LOVE garlic. I can eat it in anything but love it by itself, just roasted in the oven with some olive oil, salt and rosemary. But, alas, I hate how it makes me smell for two days and so does my husband. :( So I do not eat it by itself very often anymore. :( That's what I get for marrying a non-Italian! ;)

I would love to have a restaurant that serves garlic in every dish. I've heard of them on the Food Network (and on this thread).

I love garlic! I could eat all my meals with garlic in it. There's a pickle place in the lower east side of manhattan and they have pickled garlic, it's pretty good.
I feel the same way about parsley that your friend does....ick.

Where is this place? My in-laws live in NJ and I think I'd love to dine there (as would hubby) next time we visit.

That really struck home with me! I was diagnosed with IBS several months ago, but I never made the connection. The past few times I've eaten garlic (practically overdosed on it) I've been in so much pain. I wonder if that's a common thing for people with IBS.

CRAP! (literally  ). My family loves garlic and I can't imagine not cooking without it.
