We are staying at the Boardwalk so I was looking at the Garden Grove at the Swan for a possible character meal. DH loves Mickey and Pooh so we already have Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace lined up. My question is that I see conflicting information on the websites......

One says that the characters are there for dinner during the week but another looks like is says they are only there for breakfast Sat & Sun? Has anyone been there for dinner or know that they actually have characters at dinner? We are hoping for dinner since the other 2 character meals are bkfast.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Garden Grove does have character dining for dinner each night, but only Sat and Sunday for breakfast. Weekday breakfast is non-character.

They do have character dinners nightly but the characters vary. A couple of nights a week they have Rafiki and Timon, which is interesting because they don't appear at any Disney restaurant character meals...if you have a Lion King fan, they should like it. But if you don't know who Rafiki and Timon are, it won't work out so well.

We had Pluto and Goofy on a Tuesday night in July. They paid a lot of attention to us even though our DD is 17. Goofy sat down and was pretending to eat DH's tomato soup while he was away from the table. It was cute!

Thanks for the info! I wonder if I can call to figure out if they have "set" characters on certain nights. They probably don't but its worth the call to find out plus I heard the food there is pretty good!

Thanks again :)

The food is really good - it was a nice surprise for us because we had bought the restaurant.com cert and weren't expecting it to be so good! Now we're going back in December!

We ate on a Thursday night last month, and Goofy and Pluto were awesome! Lots of attention, as the restaurant was quiet and not busy, which is usually the case when we eat here.

We like the Italian buffet! Tiger :)

Good to know. That's the one I booked. :)

I don't suppose anyone on here would know: Restaurant.com certificates require you to order at least 2 entrees. I am alone with my 8 year old DD. Does it have to be 2 adult buffets? I'm not going to purchase a certificate if I have to pay for an adult buffet for DD - I may as well just pay the full amount with her as a child - hardly any difference in price that way.

There are characters at dinner every night & for breakfast on Sat/Sun. On Monday & Friday nights, the scheduled characters are Timon & Rafiki, other nights, the characters are Goofy & Pluto (I think). Saying that, the characters could change at the last minute. About 4 weeks ago, I went to the Garden Grove for Monday dinner (scheduled characters were Timon & Rafiki) and Goofy & Max were there instead.
