We will be arriving on July 27th at the Happiest Place on Earth.:cool1: We have just always brought our drinks, food, etc... with us, but was thinking about using Garden Grocer this time. When they deliver to your resort, do they deliver to the Lobby and you have to pick it up there, or will they deliver directly to your room?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CJ

They will deliver it to bell services at your hotel, and then you can call down to bell services and they can bring it up to your room. Ours have historically been delivered to the hotel prior to us actually getting there for various reasons so bell services can keep them refrigerated for you when necessary.

I believe they will send you a text message when the things have been delivered (but I could be confusing GG with ABBF crib and stroller rental) I always end up getting it when we are on the magical express bus :)

When we ordered from Garden Grocer a couple years ago we gave them a delivery time based on when we thought we would arrive...usually a little earlier.

They deliver to the front desk of the resort. When we check in we ask if there's a delivery for us...if it wasn't there yet, we told them we would be getting one. Either way, bell services brought our delivery to the room for us.
I guess if it's there when you check in AND your room is ready you can bring it with you if you want...but we always let bell services bring it to our room.

If we order perishables like milk and ice cream, will that be identified somehow and Bell Services will put in a fridge/freezer somewhere until we can pick it up from them?

Yes, I am pretty sure that all WDW resorts will put perishables from Garden Grocer in a fridge/freezer until you pick them up. I know that at least the deluxe resorts (DVCs) will do so, and I assume that so would the others.

If you know when you are going to arrive, then Garden Grocer will do a pretty good job of getting your food there when you arrive, so it doesn't have to wait long anyway.

We love Garden Grocer! Just remember that you may not have a fridge in your room due to the refrigerator replacement issue the resorts are currently undergoing.

Yes, thank you, I do know about the fridge situation (we are staying at Coronado Springs), and we will bring a cooler with us for drinks/water, we don't eat a lot in our room, mainly peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and fruit for breakfast and snacks.

Not to change direction...but can you/how do you tip the food delivery (GG or any other service) if they are delivering to bell services?

I don't generally mind tipping, but I'd hate to only tip the bell hop who brings the order up a few flights vs the person who actually put the order together? It's like tipping the restaurant hostess and not your waiter?

I think when you place the order online there is either a place to include a tip or it is just automatically included in the cost of the order.

One thing you might find that you may not be able to get a delivery on the 27th as you are so close to the date.

It is a great service and we used it last year for the first time and will again this time. OKW kept our butter in the fridge for us and then once we were all checked in and in the room we called bell services to deliver it.

We will be arriving around 6pm so I would be picking a delivery time that at the latest would be 6pm.

There is a place on the order form to tip, which us charged to ur CC with the order total :)

We love Garen Grocer. They forgot something once but came right back with it. It's so easy. They are a bit espensive but it's worth it for the convience.

FWIW, I did not have good luck with Garden Grocer (frozen items were freezer burned, produce was on it's last legs, etc.).

I've used WeGoShop several times now with excellent luck. They will shop at any store you like and will pick the items as though they were shopping for themselves, so no chance you will get low quality/unusable food.

Yes, you can add the tip when you check out online...There is a minimum purchase amount for delivery (when I last ordered it was $40)..If I'm not mistaken, Coronado Springs has mini fridges in rooms...at least I remember having one in ours..if you're not sure just double check.
