garden grocer

Can anyone tell me if there is a minimum order amount? All I want is my PEPSI. I will die if I have to live a week without Pepsi. :sad2:

Thats all we want is pepsi and water. I don't want to order 40$ and 10 or 12$ for delivery. We are going to try to order water from staples(they said as of yesterday they can't because they are in low supple in FL:confused3)
My DH offered to take a cab to walmart but I told him it probably wont save us that much money. I looked into fed ex and UPS and it will cost alot to ship down so we may just order from GG and call it a day.

We are staying at Poly in Feb. 08. Do the rooms have refrigerators, or do we need to request one? The Garden Grocer sounds like a godsend! It would sure help us save money on breakfast, snacks, etc. Plus, I'm sure it's cheaper to get beer/wine from the Garden Grocer rather than the bar at the Poly!

I'm glad I read disboards from time to time. I feel like I'll be a Disney expert by the time we leave for our trip! :goodvibes

Yes, they do have small refigerators.
You can also buy beer and wine at the shop in the GCH, cheaper than at the bar.

Rooms at the Poly do have refrigerators.

Also, it doesn't take much to get $40 worth of stuff. I got 88 bottles of water, some juice boxes, and some apples, and I was up to $48. The convenience of not having to go to a store is worth it for me.

I'd give 48 bucks for a 12 pack of diet dew.:lmao: I'll never forget the 1st time I went to WDW,,,,all the magic in the world and not a diet dew to be found:scared1:

Oh, it's easy to spend 40 dollars at Garden Grocer. I just did my order today for my visit to the Poly in late July. I bought a bunch of different items that I didn't want to pack or couldn't get onsite and if you think about it this way, it's cheaper than using a taxi and going to the store near WDW. It's not that bad for what you get when you factor in everything.

I made sure I got my favorite flavor of Gatorade, my Diet Pepsi, my Coffee mate liquid creamer, etc, along with a bunch of other stuff that will make life a little easier. I'm not paying the prices for bottled water or Powerade in the park and WDW just uses Coke only products, I need my Diet Pepsi fix!:rotfl:

7 days without DP isn't my idea of a vacation.

You are a man after my own heart. :goodvibes I love diet mountain dew and hate that WDW doesn't have Pepsi products. I never thought about using Garden Grocer for that. hmmmmm :thumbsup2 Is that Mr. Rohde in your avatar? He is such an interesting person.

Yeah, I racked up $40 by adding on sunscreen. It was 9.99 for the Coppertone spray sunscreen, only a couple dollars more than what it would be at a store around here. I bought two bottles and it put me at about $41 along with my other groceries. So just think about other things you might need besides just food.

Well, I'm setting here in OKW drinking a Dr. Pepper that came from GG. This was our first experience with them and overall it was positive (I've placed a second order for the next segment of our DVC resort hopping.) The only glitch when we checked in was that the Bell Service couldn't find our refrigerated items (though they had the frozen stuff). They looked high and low. However, as I was about to call GG, I noticed that they had called my cell number and left a message that said they had a problem with getting some of their refrigerated items and our stuff would be dropped off with their last delivery of the day. We were heading to the park that evening, but needed the milk for breakfast, so we had to have the Bell Service bring it to us at 11 PM so we could get to bed. It was an inconvenience, but not a major one. At least they were pro-active and called me first.

Before I found out about GG Id have to pack a case of Dew to get me through the week. What a Godsend GG is.

And yes that is Mr Rohde (Of course, I call Him Joe;) ) I met him at the Rose and Crown last year.

A little OT, but we just got back and we used wegoshop.com Their delivery charge is a little higher (I think $17 compared to $12), but I was able to tell her (Marge-excellant person) exactly what store to shop at(we used to live in Kissimmee for 12 yrs) and what brand and size to buy. She had it delivered directly to our room and was put into the fridge. She then gave me a call to let me know that it was done. She left me the receipt showing exactly what she was charged from the store, so I could have a receipt for our records. One comparison was that on a case of water...garden grocer had a case for $7.99 and she was able to get a case for $3.99

Sorry about the Mr. part. :hippie: My DH used to work with a bunch of Rohdes and because of that I couldn't remember if his first name was Bob or Joe. Hated to say a wrong name on the disboards. You know how dangerous that can be. :lmao:

How far in advance do you guys place your Garden Grocer orders? We're not going until February, so I don't think I need to place my order quite yet, but I'd like to put a date on the calendar, so I don't forget. Is a month in advance early enough/too early/just right?

Sorry, but I'm a novice at this, and I'm getting a little anal in my planning! ;)
