We plan on using Garden Grocer for our trip next month. I don't want to have to wait 2 hours in the room once we get there for our delivery, and I would also prefer for our groceries to be at the resort by the time we get there. So I was thinking of setting up the 2 hour timeframe for right before we would arrive. Is this obnoxious, or do many others do this?

Also, because of this, we would need to give two tips - one for Garden Grocer, and one for bell services at AKV. How much do you all tip? 15-20% for both?

As far as tips I think to each their own. We tipped him both times, the second being a little less. As far as the timeframe...you don't have to wait. Bell services will place your order in the fridge or freezer. GG marks the bags appropriately. No worries there. Go and enjoy yourself in the parks and you'll get a text from GG once they are delivered. It is great!!

I usually just get it delivered before we arrive and include the tip when we pay for the groceries already.
We've used them twice and both times they delivered waaay earlier than the scheduled times and the resorts have kept the groceries downstairs.

I usually tip about 15-20% for GG and for bell services I would do $1-2/bag just like normal luggage. Don't know if this is the norm or not, we just do what we think is reasonable.

Ditto on this :) This is exactly how we have always done it as well!

I hope that you have a wonderful vacation! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the responses. This is very helpful. I didn't think to tip per bag the way we tip for luggage.

Thanks - we're looking forward to it. Only 3 more weeks! :cool1:

Thanks for all the info. We will be using GG for the first time this summer. We are doing a split stay between BC and VWL. Will the WL store our groceries if we do one large order on moving day or should we just set up two deliveries for our trip?

when we did our AKL/THV split over the holidays Bell Services at SSR kept all of our perishables cold. If I remember correctly, we had two or three bags for the refrigerator and 1 for the freezer.

They should store the perishables no problem. If I were you though I would label everything clearly. I would write in big letters "TO BE REFRIGERATED" or something like that.

Have fun!

This is great advice. We're doing a split stay for Thanksgiving (unless our waitlist comes through) and I was wondering what to do about the perishables on moving day. Thanks! :goodvibes
