Garden Grill

Hello all! I recently purchased Birnbaum's Dining Guide 2005. I have been to WDW several times since 2001 but have never ate at The Garden Grill in Epcot. After reading the description and how it "revolves" and that "tables drift past various scenes" that are actually part of the the Living with the Land ride. This sounds "magical" to me. This is one of those restaurants that gets mixed reveiws but I have never heard anyone talk about this aspect of the restaurant. Please advise. Thanks so much!

It's not quite as remarkable as it may be made to seem by the Birnbaum description. The scenes are diaramas, and they're actually about 35 feet below the floor of the restaurant. I wouldn't make a special trip to GG just based on that aspect.

Even though GG does get mixed reviews, it is one of our favorites. Yes, it does turn, but ever so slowly. You hardly notice unless you are looking at the walls. We go mainly for the food, we love the steak and the salad!! If you have never tried it, I would definately go at least once.

I hope it's good. I'm planning to take my DW and DS4 for her 40th birthday in October. DW is a picky eater, and dosen't do so well at buffets. And DS4 needs to see Mickey at a Character meal. I'm actually planning two character meals on her B'day. We are going to CP for breakfast. Eggs cooked to order......just the way she likes them. Good thing my DS4 is not a picky eater too!

This has been our "always go to" restaurant the last four years. But they have had a recent change of menu, and I don't care to recommend it until we try it out.

The revolving aspect is fun and provides some entertainment especially for young children. We have also had good to excellent character interaction here. Ask to be seated on the lower level, which is partitioned into booths. You are almost completely isolated from other diners there, and when the characters visit you truly have them all to yourself.
