Hi Everyone - I booked a PPO breakfast reservation (8:35) during the first week of April at Epcot. My plan is to hit Soarin' right after we're done. Any idea as to what the wait might look like? I assume it will take about an hour to eat(?) so we'd be about 1/2 hour behind the rope drop crowds.

We've done a similar strategy with Akershus/FEA but I assume that was crazier situation than what a GG/Soarin' might be?

Thanks!

You're there during spring break so it will be crowded. I'd say keep checking wait times now at the time you'd get in line (9:30am?) and add 30 minutes to the wait time. If your wait is shorter you'll be pleasantly surprised!

If you arrive at GG as early as possible they will most likely seat you shortly thereafter. We had an 8:30 ADR there on our last trip and were seated at 8:10. We finished breakfast at 8:45 and rode Soarin' twice even before the rope drop crowds started to show up.

We have a PPO ADR at GG in early Aptil too.. This is my plan. Get there early, pay the bill, be efficient in eating and visiting with characters and get on Soarin' ahead of RD crowds. I would highly recommend it.

We had a 8:15am but were let in to start early. We left GG at approx. 9:05am and Soarin was a walk on....by the time we were off it was 20 minute wait

On a side note: Wondering if someone can help?

I posted this in another thread but does anyone know if you can book breakfast at GG during EMH as an offsite guest and still go? I'm thinking not but really confused. Having APs and staying off site has totally skewed my planning, now I don't know what I am doing.

Yes, I was going to say this. Get there at opening and check-in. Most likely you'll be seated early. You'll probably have to eat a little faster than you'd prefer (get out by 8:45), but then you can hit Soarin with no wait before the rope droppers get there. We did this our last trip.

Great! I'm feeling much better. :flower3: I will keep checking for an earlier time, but if all else fails we will just show up early and hope to be seated sooner. Thanks!!

:thanks:

excuse me for my ignorance - what does PPO stand for?

Pre Park Opening. It refers to breakfast reservations before park officially opens. In OP's case, Epcot opens at 9am and their breakfast reservation is for 8:35am. These are considered desirable because after breakfast you are in the park before the general public is allowed in. Which means you get to be one of the first on line for popular attractions.

ETA: Disney frequently changes parks hours to earlier opening times. So a PPO ADR can quickly become worthless for this strategy.

Thank you. I should have known that. I am hardly a newbie. ;)

Technically, it would still be a PPO ADR. You should have no problem making and getting in for the ADR. However, they probably won't let you in early for it. What happens if you finish eating before regular opening is anyone's guess.
