Garden Grill Dinner

I currently have a reservation at GG for dinner. I'm not expecting the most amazing meal, I'm mainly going for atmosphere. However, after reading some reviews, I'm a little worried that the meal with be inedible. Anyone with some opinions?

I've only had lunch there (May 2017), but I think the lunch and dinner food is substantially the same. Was it the most amazing meal ever? No, but I doubt anyone is expecting that out of a character meal. However, I would say it was, at minimum, good. Some components were very good. My husband and son (18 months at the time) liked it too. My son would have eaten all of the pot roast if I'd let him.

We enjoyed all of our meals at GG. We go back on purpose - we love the atmosphere and the food is good. I wouldn't say it was our best meal but definitely not inedible.

Perhaps we've always had good luck, but our food has always been tasty. When compared to Chef Mickey's (based on many of the same characters and 'buffet' foods), it's amazing. Personally we avod CM like the plague and will eagerly spend our money on a character meal here.

The food is totally solid for a family style character meal. If you enjoy the items they serve per the menu, then you should have no problems there.

It was good in July, not great, not bad. I wish they still offered fish instead of the sausage. The salad was very good. I liked the turkey and beef, as well as the potatoes.

They had potato salad, which was good.

Our server was very attentive. The character interaction was not as good as we've had in the past, but my mother-in-law's scooter blocked the characters from some parts of the table.

It has been a couple of years since we were there, but the food when we went was quite good for a character meal. Better than Chef Mickey's, that's for sure! I was disappointed to hear the fish is gone because we did like that, but there was nothing inedible served and several things we really enjoyed.

We loved Garden Grill breakfast, but disliked dinner. That was largely influenced by us being gluten-free and the kitchen not accommodating that well at dinner. However, even if we'd eaten the regular meal, it still would have been too bland for my taste.

The atmosphere is nice and character interaction is excellent, but I also disliked that at dinner they put our party of 2 at a shared booth with another family. If they ever tried that again, I'd refuse to be seated that way. Our untasty dinner for 2 at a non-private booth cost over $100, so I was not a happy camper and will never have dinner there again.

But as I said, we've since had a great breakfast there.

We love Garden Grill, and have been several times. (Though I'm also going to miss the fish!) I wouldn't go in expecting gourmet dining, but my family always leaves full and happy.

I think the fact that it's a little smaller and out-of-the way makes the character interaction really good, and Chip and Dale are near the top of my favorite characters list.

I personally hated the food and the Living with the Land smell at Garden Grill. That being said, my husband and DS 9 at the time both thought it was fine and we all agreed the characters were great and came around several times during our dinner. It is definitely one of those I would say try it for yourself to see.

We went in April and loved it (our second time). It was us, 10 yr son and grandparents. Salad and pot roast were biggest hits. No one likes the sausage but every thing else great. They even brought gravy and dresssing out seperately b/c. We are picky.

Now we aren't foodies but we sure thought it was tasty. Everyone liked strawberry shortcake desert, I missed the berry crumble thing they use to serve.

We would book again in a heartbeat. Get a table closest to outside for best view of living the land.

GG has some odd seating arrangements on the lower level. To accommodate parties of different sizes, some tables feature drop leaves; two "corner" booths that seat four each can then seat 10.

We were just there last Sunday and really enjoyed it. It was one of our favorite meals of the week, second behind Tepan Edo.
We did not get potato salad but everything we did get was really tasty!

The potato salad was in a very small bowl, almost a single serving. It may have been something the kitchen was experimenting with.

We went in September with a multi-generational group of 13 family members aged 7-70. Everybody really enjoyed it. It was my favorite meal of the week. I especially loved the beef. The character interactions were great, too.

Yes. It was a rare booth that had 2 small tables separated by just a few inches of space, and we shared seating on the same bench. That booth was probably meant for a party of 6, but instead they put the party of 4 at the slightly bigger table, and us at the slightly smaller table.

Just go! Don't make a decision based on a few bad reviews. You can find bad reviews for all the restaurants on Disney property! We found it to be good with good character interaction with a unique dining experience.
