Garden Grill and motion sickness?

The only reason we even noticed the movement is the scene's changed in front of our booth. You don't feel it at all. :)

BTW, Mickey, Pluto, and Chip & Dale make it a great experience! :)

My mom has very bad motion sickness and suffers from bad bouts of vertigo, I am prone to motion sickness myself (but to nowhere near the same extent), and neither of us felt any ill effects from the Garden Grill. As others have said, it moves very slowly and you don't feel any movement.

It's also probably the best character meal we've had as not only is the food delicious, but Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale constantly went round the tables to the point where we met each character about three or four times each.

My friends DH has serious motion sickness....They love eating here, and is their tradition for the 1st night. He says he hardly even notices it, and that he is having such a fun time that he's fine, he says he just doesn't stare out the whole time...

It's really slooooowwww moving.

I guess I'm one of the only people in the world to feel nauseous at Garden Grill.:rotfl2:

I didn't notice the turning until we got to the solid wall. I think it was a combination of the movement, the very colorful wall, and the strong fish smell that created the perfect storm. I wasn't ill, but I did lose my appetite.

Edited to add: that was almost 5 years ago and my family still makes fun of me

Nope --- you are not the only one --- I have severe vertigo, and felt "off" after eating at "GG" -- happened to me a few times

The first time we ate there I had no problem at all. We were seated in the lower level in a booth facing out towards the scenery. If it weren't for the changing scenery you wouldn't even know it was rotating.
Now, our last visit we were seated in the upper section and I had a pretty severe headache prior to being seated and for the first 30 minutes of our meal I felt like I could feel the rotation in my head x10. I was so dizzy and nauseous. After I forced myself to eat and got to enjoy seeing my 9 month old son meeting the characters for the first time my headache went away. Moral of the story I guess is don't go there if you're already feeling ill because then the rotation may actually bother you but otherwise you'll be fine. :thumbsup2

I am very sensitive to motion sickness, and definitely felt a little bit "off" after GG. Not so bad that I wouldn't do it again, but definitely not in my top choices.

Nobody in our party of four could feel the motion but sounds like it may effect some people differently.

I was worried about it because spinning and even airplanes banking turns make me queasy. I did just fine (and to me the food was the best meal in Disney).

Now Akershus on the other hand.....for some reason no matter what I try, the smell and taste of the food turn my stomach.
