Garden Grill and 7 people?

We will have 7 people in our group and would like a booth. Do they have seating for 7 people or should I split the group up?

If I remember right, I believe 6 is the max.

I'd split the groups up. I thought the booths were pretty tight with 4 adults and 2 kids

Unfortunately , you'll probably have to split up. We had 7 last year and my husband just skipped out so we didn't have to split the party. Really good food, but sad they can't accommodate larger parties.

It will depend on the make up of your group.
I believe the booths seat 6 adults comfortably so if you have 3 adults 4 kids for example it very well could work.
Keep in mind even if you split it you are not guaranteed a booth.

you can still enjoy the food without a booth though! (unless EVERYTHING I know has changed haha)

They have the ability to see larger parties on the upper level for sure, a few on lower. They have tables that can be connected to make a big one. I personally would try for 7 first. If no success then two ADR, arrive early ask about seated side by side. They might even be able to push together.

You can see from the upper level, though not quite as well. The ride sets are large enough though that it's still a pretty good experience. If they setup the tables as in that pic though, note that some will have their back to it. They would have to do that though for a larger group because there isn't enough space on the ring to seat that many facing to the side.

We ate dinner @ Garden Grill a few years ago and had 7 in our party. As I recall, we sat at a long table (not a booth) and had no issues with looking at the displays. If your preference is to all sit together, choosing the long table(s) should work fine. In general, it seems you are more cramped at a booth vs a table with larger parties.

Sorry if you already know this, but if you need to split the group into 2 reservations, you'll need 2 different people in your group to make them. You can't hold both reservations around the same time.

^^ I agree. We actually ran into that situation about holding multiple reservations. One person made all of the dinner ADR's to simplify things. One night we planned to split up and eat at different restaurants. MDE wouldn't allow that person to hold multiple reservations for the same date/time, so a different person in our party made the other one.

(I assume this prevents people from holding multiple reservations until they actually decide where they want to eat, so make sense for Disney to not allow that.)

Honestly, I'm not sure what the hype is as far as scenery? The food was great, and we loved the family style presentation, but there's really nothing to see! I few simple scenes went by- definitely not something to get excited about or plan around ,imo.

Just go ride Living with the Land afterwards and you see the scenery.

Sorry if you already know this, but if you need to split the group into 2 reservations, you'll need 2 different people in your group to make them. You can't hold both reservations around the same time.

I just checked with my husband about this, because he is our logistics expert for WDW trips. I recalled that one time, my daughter and I had a reservation at Garden Grill, while my husband, brother, and nephew were eating at Via Napoli. You just need different people who are park or resort guests to be the "manager" of each reservation. My husband says that this also works for two tables at the same restaurant, as long as two different people can be in charge of each table. We looked into that once when our family trip included honeymooners.

As for the scenery at Garden Grill, I enjoy it--child at heart.

There's recently been a change in the ADR booking system. In the past, someone could book an ADR via their own MDE account but designate someone other than themselves to manage that ADR. That flexibility disappeared, and if two ADRs are needed for the same time, whether same or different restaurants, those ADRs have to be made via two separate MDE accounts. Thus the note about needing two different people to make the reservations when a group has to be split - the system won't let one person make both reservations anymore.

is the booth picture above the upper level?
Do both the levels rotate?
