Hi,

Can anyone help me?? I am trying to find somewhere that hires outs games consoles, I know I get hire games, the villa we are staying in doesn't have a games console because they say they get taken!

I hope someone can help, as happy kids make a happy holiday!!

I don't really want to buy one as kids have playstation, N64 and gamecube at home already!! (games mad)

Sorry, but have you actually been to Florida before? There's hardly time to brush your teeth in the morning - there's just so much to do. I don't think your kids will have time for a games console. Do they have hand held ones already? Game boy etc? I took my game boy for long trips in the car (I'm 26) but certainly didn't have time to use it other than that. They are cheaper in the USA than over here if you consider that an option.

Hi,

yes have been to florida several times, and yes there are loads to do, but with 3 kids we are always on a budget, and therefore have days back at the villa, and Yes there is a pool but again they can only be out by the pool when I am, and although I would love to nothing allday and sit by the pool with three kids just isn't possible.

The kids have gba but the lighting isn't great on them, so would prefer a console.

Do you have any suggestions other than doing other things!!

Hope someone can help me

Hi

I also have 3 children and we have never had a villa with any type of games console and they've never missed them.

They all just want to be in the pool. I'm a non-swimmer and have to be sitting out on the pool deck with them - on our 'pool' days.

I appreciate that I'm lucky that they don't look for games etc while on holiday as they consider a holiday to be completely different to being at home ie no games, no bikes, no pc etc

They do different activities than at home and make up pool games and basically keep themselves amused but really on our 'pool' days they are usually exhausted from all the 'park' days - early nmornings and late nights.

Hi, my GBA has a clip on backlight bwhich is really good, I think it cost about £7, don't know if that would be of any use. The GBA games are also cheaper out there if they want a new game.

Have you thought of taking maybe the N64 and games with you. I guess it would work with an adaptor, is light and wouldn't take up too much room in case. Wouldn't be a disaster if it was stolen as you've still two consoles left!

I find your comment very strange - So if you had three consoles, losing one wouldn't matter. You must have more money than sense. My son would be devastated if he lost one of his four consoles !!

oops.
just trying to suggest an option!
I have 3 sons and 3 consoles, but the older 2(consoles) rarely get used - I've taken an older 1 on caravan hols before without worrying too much. Don't have much money and hope I do have some sense!

If you are considering taking a console with you, would it not be taken on as hand luggage anyway, and insurance should cover anything that may get stolen from the villa anyway.

Another mum of 3 boys (10.11 & 12), & yeah there is lots to do, but we are considering taking one of our consoles as something for helping them chill & unwind in the evening after long days at the parks & excursions. It is also something for them to chill with on the non park days, so can understand why you would want one.

I haven't come across anywhere that has advertised hiring them out, so sorry can't help there.

Hi,

Thanks Carol at last a mum who knows where I'm coming from!!

My kids are 8,6 and 2 and my boys get withdrawl without out, do you know if I would need to buy special adapters to make the console work out there, will they play on an NTSC television???

Hope to here from anyone who can give me some advise re: getting UK PAL consoles working in USA..

Cheers
