Game Plan for Friday Aug. 31-Disney Springs TIW purchase

Landing in Orlando about 930, plan to get rental car and head to Disney Springs to get a TIW card....then head to Vero Beach where we have reservations for the weekend. Is TIW a fairly painless process? Any "must do's? We've been to Disney Springs once before...and I kinda want to get to Vero asap as our time there is limited, but figure we want to make the most of DS while there. Hoped to get T-Rex for lunch, but that isn't available at this point. Two kiddos, 6&8...not letting them NEAR lego world.

We were at Vero a few weeks ago and I’m only now recovering from being devoured by bugs at the campfire. Yes I had big spray on! Just wanted to warn you. Wear an entire bottle of bug spray if you venture out to the campfire at night or anywhere outside after dusk.

We have purchased TIW twice at guest relations at Disney Springs. Your only hang up there is if it is super busy. Otherwise you can be in and out quick. For fast, good quality eats have a look online at Polite Pig. It surprised us, pleasantly and we will be back.

Also struggling to decide whether to just get a Sunpass transponder as we are usually in FL at least 2 weeks a year, but when we go to WDW, we use the Magical Express and don't tend to get a rental. Excited to drive around Orlando a bit and get a feel for it...and super pumped for Vero. I just ordered a 1lb. tub of steroid ointment for when we get lit up by the bugs.

Is the watch/pendant deal for DVC peeps worth taking time for while at DS?

Oh....one note people may find helpful. I called to get a real plastic card, but was too late, hence the reason for the stop at DS....but TIW personnel told me that once you've purchased, you can call in and make a "permanent card request" or something like that, and they will mail it to you.
