Gall bladder attacks during pregnancy?

Bumping up for C. Ann I wanted to add this after my LOVELY 5 hour nap this afternoon. I saw a midwife today. Next week (Thursday) I'll see one of the Dr's maybe he can help me out more than she did today... I am still mad about being blown off like I'm not really in "pain" Tylenol that still make me mad.. its like saying to a woman in labor here's some Tylenol you dont need an epidural.. the pain gets so bad in my back at times I wake Dh up to rub not that it helps but at least I'm not crying alone at 3am til when ever it decides to stop hurting which could be an hour or 5 hours later... I wanted to smack her. Anyway after alot of internet researsh it seems I'm screwed until after delivery anyway... 4 weeks 4 more weeks... at least the script of Tylenol 3's has 4 refills... I have a feeling I"m gonna need them all!

Thanks for the update.. Can you use the Tylenol 3's now? How about hydrocodone? I have known women who have had to take both during pregnancy.. Maybe you could call your dr. and ask.. Also, if the hydrocodone is safe, I believe he/she can write it without the tylenol in it because I believe there's a concern about bleeding when you're this close to delivery..

Wish I could offer some better advice.. I remember how much pain my DD was in before they finally got around to determining it was her gallbladder and taking it out.. It was awful..:(

Tylenol is safe for pregnancy, its motrin/advil that is not since it thins your blood. I'm really not one to complain about pregnancy.. I loved being pregnant the other 3 times. LOVE IT... I kept saying to my friends I'm getting too old for this because of how much pain I've been in and I'm only 29. I just want to feel good again. I almost ate pizza today then thought... Ugh why would I do that to myself so instead I had corn on the cob... so far no pain... hopefully now that I know high fat stuff really sets it off I can get it semi under control until I see the dr again on Thursday. My midwife did say sometimes it goes away after you deliver... I'm hoping!!!

Glad you skipped the pizza - however, did you slather butter on your corn on the cob? Try to avoid eggs, ice cream, and mayo too..

No butter :( Mayo is icky dont I dont have to worry about skipping that ;)

Sorry you are in pain. I had this with all my pregnancies and I can sympathize with you.

My Dr. said that eventually you will begin to have GB attacks when you are not pregnant and need to have the GB removed. Whether it is sooner or later, that depends on the person.

I had my first gallbladder attack when I was pregnant with my oldest DS. I had no idea what it was, but I was pretty miserable. I never said anything to my doctor because I just thought I had indigestion. I went in for my 6-week check-up after he was born and the doc figured out I had gallstones. I ended up having it removed about 2 months after DS was born. The surgeon who removed it told me that at least half of his patients were women who had recently given birth.
