GAD valid ID question

We are upgrading our GAD vouchers to 5 day tickets. I know mine and DH's drivers license will work as our ID. For my two children it says I will need their birth certificate or a copy of their birth certificate. I don't want to bring their original bc so can I make a copy of it. Or does it have to be some kind of official copy? I just don't want to get down there and not have the right papers. Thanks!

A copy that you make is fine - it does not need to be an official or certified copy.

The state of SC (where my son was born) issues a wallet size card that, while not an actual replica, contains all the information that is uaually on a birth certificate with the state of SC emblem in the background. Do you think this would work for my 13 y/o son, or do you think I need to make a copy of his actual birth certificate?

The exact wording from the voucher states "Valid ID is one of the following: driver's license with photo, or a government issued passport or photo ID. If under age 18, you can instead bring an original or a copy of a birth certificate (school or children security IDs not accepted)." So I'd have to vote yes on the wallet card. It is a copy of the info on the birth certificate, and it is government issued. I was born in Virginia and have a wallet card that I have successfully used as a birth certificate (not at Disney, but at agencies where I needed a birth certificate). Not that my vote counts for much, but the wallet card should be just as official for Disney's purposes.

I think you'll be fine. Disney just wants to be able to confirm that they are who they are suposed to be.
