Can I use my GAD to upgrade to the seasonal annual pass for Florida residents and use the monthly payment option? Has anyone tried this?

Yes, you can. You will get the full value of the GAD ($82.00) toward the $259 cost of the SP. Your monthly payment will be about $15.71 (including tax). The first monthly payment will be charged to your credit or debit card within one business day, and the other eleven payments at one month intervals.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #21, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature.

So do I redeem my GAD ticket in person or can I do it online?

My DH and I had GAD vouchers that we used to purchase the FL Res Seasonal Pass on the monthly payment plan. We were at AK 2 weeks ago and just did it at the ticket counter outside the park. It was completely painless and the CM was well-versed in what to do. We just presented our vouchers and photo IDs and told her that we wanted to upgrade to the Seasonal Pass, but that we wanted to be on the payment plan. Even using the voucher as the down payment, we still had to make our first payment on the spot (for 2 adult seasonal passes it was about $30). The payments will come out automatically every month. I was actually very surprised at how easy it was!

Cheshire---I've read the sticky and I apologize if my thinker isn't working--Not seeing info about using the GAD to renew the AP and do the monthly payment plan....

I saw your question posted and don't know the answer - sorry. Hopefully Cheshire Figment will see this. I know you can use the GAD voucher to upgrade to an AP (first time or renewal) and you can do monthly payment plan with first time APs. It would make sense that you could do it with a renewal, but I don't know for sure.

Go to the will-call window and redeem you GAD voucher for a one day pass. Then tell the CM you want to renew your AP using the Monthly Payment Plan and also use the GAD ticket as the down payment amount. This is routine and should not be any problem.

GAD vouchers can only be redeemed in person at the Will Call windows at one of the major parks.

I don't know the answer for certain, but the post above yours indicates you can can apply it to a new AP purchase under the monthly plan, and you can definitely apply the GAD to a renewal purchase. As long as you can do the monthly plan on a renewal (and I'm pretty sure you can), then I don't see it as a problem.

A renewal is really just a new ticket purchase, at a discounted rate, with the expiration changed accordingly.
