Hello,
I'm new to the boards! :wave2::jumping1: We are planning a trip to Disneyland this year. I was hoping to find out about the Guest Assistance Card? My friend has sun sensitivities due to a couple of medications that she takes. Would she be able to get a GAC because of this and how would it work with her not having to stand in the sun? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the boards! I wish I had an answer for you, but the parks are switching up the GAC system in a few days so I am not sure what they will say.

I will say this, almost all queues are in sunlight at least part, if not the whole time.your friend will need a really good plan because pretty much everything is in the sun.

Definitely a big floppy hat, and something lightweight but covering...

I will post the new gac procedures as soon as I know them.

Thanks for the info! She is definitely planning on taking plenty of hats!!! I didn't even know about the GAC until a little while ago :confused3. The whole thing seems really confusing! And now they are changing it up on me!! Arggg!! LOL Do you know why they are changing it?

My daughter has a disease that can flare from the sun. I would plan your trip when the parks are open late, and try and tour after 6pm. We did a NYE trip, and she LOVED that, parks were open so late. That is what DD does. She says, at least then she can relax and have fun, vs, worrying about getting (seriously) ill. It stinks, I know. Sunscreen of course, is required otherwise, but she worries if she misses a spot, she could get sick.

Yes, the GAC change date has been pushed back, according to someone I talked to in City Hall.

I am not sure a GAC could really do much - even the wheelchair accessible queues are in direct sunlight more often than the regular queues.

DL has different GAC stamps than WDW, and I am not sure if there is one for the sun.

My best suggestion would be to talk to people at City Hall anyway, just in case, but also to make plans just in case they cannot help you. Go see shows and indoor things during the heat of the day. Save rides for early morning or after dark.

What is she going to do about the sun exposure between the attractions? :confused3 I know Disneyland isn't as big as WDW, but there's still a lot of sun exposure between the queues.
