GAC card ??'s

My youngest son has ASD and ADHD issues and has been to DL several times. We've always gone when crowds are light for this reason and never considered a GAC. I thought I had picked a light week this time too according to touring, but it is the week the AP blackouts are lifted. I've been reading about the GAC cards and think it may be helpful for him this trip. My questions are:
1) do you have to use it or get to pick and choose when and where?
2) do you get them at city hall only?
3) do you get one each day or are they good for your whole stay?
4) what are your experiences with it, in particular in cars land (which we may have to skip this time due to crowds anyway). I've read conflicting reports.

Thank you so much! I hate doing anything that makes him different, but think it may really help this time, especially if he has a bad day.

1. What the card allows depends on the holders situation. That determines how and when you can use it.

2. Or in guest services in DCA, The Chamber of Commerce. This spot has a shorter line than City Hall in DL.

3. You get one card for you whole visit. APs can get longer term cards.

4. It will work fine to help your individual situation.

On our first trip I didnt know about the GAC and although we had a great time, my body paid dearly for pushing it the way I did.
This Feb we went back and from info I got from this forum I got a GAC, and boy oh boy was life wonderful.

I didnt use it at every ride, mainly because at the start of the day I didnt need it, but by later in the afternoon when pain was becoming an issue it was so nice to have.. meant that I could use the elevators when I couldnt do stairs, and could wait in areas that could accommodate me, and I could rest while waiting...


I didnt use it at CA due to lines being wheelchair accessible and being able to use FP. but for some of the rides it would have been nice to have been able to sit down while waiting.. anyway that's my experience with the GAC,, we will be heading back next Feb, and I plan to get one again and use it the same way...

It really depends on what you are asking for assistance with?

For the Racers and wait / line issues, my understanding is that they are issuing a pass to return 3 in hours and then use the FP line.
