Brian is dead. What justice are you looking for? I mean, you can't get more of a final judgement than that.Brain is gone I can’t believe it I feel for gabbys parents no justice for her death
Seeing him stand trial and be put behind bars would be more satisfying. He left on his own terms and never had to give them details on what happened.Brian is dead. What justice are you looking for? I mean, you can't get more of a final judgement than that.
That isn't justice, it's satisfaction. The story tied up in a nice neat ending.Seeing him stand trial and be put behind bars would be more satisfying. He left on his own terms and never had to give them details on what happened.
They don't even know the actual date of their daughter's death.
You don't think it's reasonable for her parents to want that? That isn't justice, it's satisfaction. The story tied up in a nice neat ending.
For you, personally. And I respect that. The story tied up in a nice neat ending.
I'm getting morbid here, but what an interesting story it would make to write a novel where somebody killed a woman, then later killed the husband and made it look like he took his own life out of guilt.
I think they have an idea of what happened to Gabby. The couple have two or three volatile interactions in public during this trip. Police were called...another instance they were thrown out of a restaurant. The Petitos might not realize it yet but they probably really didn't want grisly details and weeks of a grueling trial after months or years of waiting...if he was tried. I can't imagine it would make them feel better. They wanted vengeance and justice. Brian is dead and his family is suffering his loss too. Everybody loses.JMOOnly Gabby's parents can say if Brian's death is a satisfying resolution. Their daughter is still dead. They might be relieved that they don't have to go through the ordeal of a long trial and appeals. I do hope he left a note or journal with some explanation so they can have some closure and start to heal.
Having "an idea" of what happened to my child would never be enough for me. You don't need grisly details, but a rough outline, and a date specific might be helpful.I think they have an idea of what happened to Gabby. There would have been grisly details if Brian had been charged with her death and/or gone to trial. These proceedings are spread out over a long period of time. Reliving her death over and over in a very public manner would be very damaging to everyone involved. I also believe the only thing that would truly be enough for Gabby's family is to have her living and breathing. JMOHaving "an idea" of what happened to my child would never be enough for me. I don't think it's fair for any of us to assume what's "enough" for a family that just lost their child.
100% this. My thoughts and prayers are with them.Having "an idea" of what happened to my child would never be enough for me. You don't need grisly details, but a rough outline, and a date specific might be helpful.

I get that. And I would have personally avoided those details, avoided court on the days they were to be presented. Then maybe ask specific questions of the prosecutor on the issues that were haunting me. But I think that choice should be theirs and we should not presume to know what is best for them. There would have been grisly details if Brian had been charged with her death and/or gone to trial. Are you a parent? They reported him missing, told police where he went. There is absolutely nothing my kids could do for me to want them dead. Why do I have the feeling the parents were in on this from the very beginning? They just happened to know where the place the son's remains were found. They knew he was planning to kill himself and said nothing.
There are statements confirming the Laundries had a good idea where Brian's was hiking. Also others disputing they knew he was going to kill himself. Brian was upset and wanted to go for a walk. His dad tried to stop him but ultimately couldn't. Dad went out to look for him the same night and was unable to locate Brian. Chris Laundrie is devastated his son is dead. Why do I have the feeling the parents were in on this from the very beginning? They just happened to know where the place the son's remains were found. Yes ultimately the choice should have been theirs. Although the Petitos couldn't have been spared the details. This case was very high profile and their privacy wouldn't have been respected.I get that. And I would have personally avoided those details, avoided court on the days they were to be presented.
